Do all Series 1 VE 6litres have shallow transmission pan?

I take it you've got the 6L80E trans, might be worthwhile checking this out. http://paceperformance.com/i-8434163-gmp-24250062-camaro-transmission-pan-kit-with-wide-mouth-filter-6l80.html

please help fix my problem... cant afford to see a mechanic right now

Hold the mode and down trip computer buttons when you turn the car on and cycle through to the coolant temp, keep an eye on that, the fans should come on at 104° And with the PCV hose, it's a little fiddly it runs from the throttle body underneath the intake runners to just behind the intake...

VX compartment lid under radio wont lock shut

Sounds like the latch that holds it closed is broken, you can either try replacing it or you'll have to get a new compartment. I think they're about $40-45 from memory?

Help with most suitable lowering of ve sv6 z series

Going that low you'll lose all ride quality and is quite impractical for everyday use, plus it isn't technically roadworthy that low. Can't stop you from doing it, just informing you of the ramifications of going that low. If you do lower if though, get some decent quality shortened shocks as well

    Lowering Ve Omega

Probably smart to do the shocks as well and get the shortened ones but if you're a little short on coin it should be alright if you leave the standard ones till you have the money Were you planning on fitting them yourself or getting a shop to do it?

I think this is worthy of being posted here.

VT 3.8 whistling noise when accelerating

Try checking the PCV hose, runs from the throttlebody to the back of the manifold The rubber hoses tend to split from the heat, try running the engine and just rev it a bit to see if you can find the issue.

Vs v6 exhaust. Single out let or duel out let rear muffler

Don't really know if dual outlets will change much apart from looks, but it would be a bit tricky to fit it well on the side with the petrol tank i would've thought? If you're looking for a better exhaust note try removing the middle muffler and replacing the rear with a resonator, you should...

    150Db

Yes, in decibels. Mate, if you ask a stupid question chances are you will get a stupid answer. Why do you want it loud enough for the whole street to hear if it's only for personal use? Why not just get a good quality setup with a good sounding deep bass?

    hard to get Electrical apprenticeship?

Getting into one of the big commercial electrical companies will be almost impossible if you don't know anyone working for them already, your only other option would be sending them your resume every week for the next 6 months until they finally reply I was lucky enough to get an apprenticeship...

I just looked up the thread about it, sounds like it's nothing short of impressive just need the cash to buy one now. As for the cpr6 manifold, i've read mixed reviews about it and atm i'm not too sure about forking out $1600 for something that's not gonna be worthwhile, i think there's money...

Cheers kuzman, i was looking at the mace otr cai can't wait till they finish it up, might get a tune when the time is right too. As for exhaust i'm not sure what i'm gonna do, i haven't had much experience with the newer engines so i don't really know what my options are yet.

    Erratic/High engine temps

Yeah the fans do come on at 104° and speed up at 112°, and i bought a new radiator cap last week which did lessen the fluctuations until the other day when it started getting worse than before I had another look last night while on the way home and i noticed water squirting out of what would've...

    Erratic/High engine temps

Hi Guys, my VT seems to be having trouble staying at a regular temp and is instead going from 95° to 113° and sometimes right up to 118-120° (I used coolant temp in diagnostic mode) This happens even when driving at 80K's When it's sitting at idle and it's gotten hot, revving it at 2k for 30...

    VT exhaust recommendations

I'm looking at getting a new exhaust and i was thinking something along the lines of a 2 1/4" hi flow cat, no front muffler and rear resi or muffler. I've searched through heaps of other threads and from what i've found this is a good setup for what i'm after, i'm just unsure what to use for the...

    VS lsd diff into VT

Awesome, thanks for the help guys much appreciated And pjdm, from my knowledge the difference between non-ABS and ABS is that the ABS diff has sensor module plugs on the diff housing. So you can use an ABS diff in a non-ABS model but not the other way around.

    VS lsd diff into VT

Hey guys, first time poster here so hopefully i'm in the right place. My diff is on it's way out and i've been offered a VS lsd by a mate, i don't know the specifics of the lsd but i want to know if it'll bolt straight in without too much mucking around. I know there are some differences...
