    vz equip advice

190 kw has exhaust outlet cam phasing, variable intake manifold can't think of anything else. Do a google search. And yes sv6 has fe2 or factory sports suspension millimiters lower with factory shorted shocks to cope, can all be found online with a search

How i know which year model in 2005 for VZ SV6 that comes with LSD and Airbags??

I think the upgrade your speaking of came in August 05 or something like that. You can also check the vin number to tell you how many safety airbags it has (it's sort of hidden in the code) and the compliance plate should have a code for LSD compared to single spinner. Good luck

    Spotted VF today

I read somewhere that the vf rear end WAS elongated for aerodynamic reasons

Wat the hell is this in my intake pipe?

Cool to know that the 25mm spacers fit as most only have the 12mm on the alloytec, how's the clearance from the firewall? And can you access the coils and sparkies without removing the top manifold now? And yeh I doubt whatever that the fan is factory fit haha I'd say it would have even been...

power train error after changing spark plugs

Some codes are logged after 2 starts and it still fails, so unless you've started it 2 or more times without the MIL coming on don't hold your breath!

    Check Drive train

Check powertrain could be anything emissions related, I recently had it but the car drove fine and you would never know anything was 'wrong' after reading the codes and doing a bit of fault finding it was apparent the internal switch in the ecu for the evap solenoid had a problem and needed a...

What's that small hose on top on vz motor

Not entirely true morph, it's not the positive crankcase ventilation system , that hose runs to a solenoid on the back of the passanger valve cover which vents fuel tank fumes. 100% agree with splits in it causing bad idle through loss of vac, definatly just tape it up

Belt slipp at high revs ls1

What speed does it usually idle at, because all the a/c does it put more load on the motor so it idles higher to compensate. Maybe when your a/c kicks in it idles then at the correct (or better) speed. Dunno really just a thought

2006 VZ Acclaim Engine Mods, Worth it?

There's lots of small things you can do that together make the car noticeably better takeoff, it's obviously still a v6 not a space rocket. I have a hsv vy2 lower intake box with the separate intake scoop, mace insulators and a twin ss catback. Extractors and diff gears would help a lot but all...

    WL V6 Catback system?

A system from the 5.7 v8 will fit as the flanges to the cat pipes are in a v shape, the 6.0 litre exhaust has straight pipes with flanges and will not fit, this is all for the sedan i can't tell you if it's the same for the long wheelbase

Is VZ 1st gen alloytec better than VY, VYII ecotec?

Alloytec is more powerful but must be taken care services so if your slack with maintenance get the ecotec. I prefer the alloytec!!

Installing head unit - CV8Z Monaro

I would look up some sort of manual because that will tell you for sure what pins do what in the plug from the headunit to your adapter BUT most have 8 pins for the speakers being front left + right, back left + right positive and negatives. Anything else you would run off an amp through the new...

    Springs

245/35/19 should be fine for clearance of the front struts, however I'm in the same boat for springs but am concerned about rear outer guard clearance, would most people with sl kings get the rears rolled?

    Which is better?

Svu6 really needs his own thread just to ask questions in so the feed isn't clogged. I let mine warm till pill pressure drops from 4.5 bar to 3 haha

How much for 96mm Throttle Body for a 05 VZ commy?

He's definatly looking at an ls1,2 or 3 tb. 96mm probably wouldn't even fit on an alloytec it's 30mm more than standard, even then wouldn't bother unless you could get a big maf to suit

    radiator/coolant problems

I'm having the same issue with loosing small ammounts of coolant from a hidden spot but no overheats, and all my water is clear so I'm pretty sure I'm due for a flush and add a new mix. BUT. Unfortunately your father in law has put in coolant meant for iron blocks not aluminum so I suggest you...

    HSV Gauges

Depending on what type of dash configuration you have. Non climate control you will need single hump hsv from vy series 2, or if you have climate control you need vz hsv twin hump pod. Gauge sizes are 52mm I believe. Wiring will either be a connecter down the bottom right of dash where cigarette...

Test drove VZ today acceleration lag

Test drove VZ today acceleration lag

Yes please try another, I recently got my injects flushed and although it ran beautifully before the injector clean now the difference although slight is amazing and much smoother throttling and power. The alloytecs just need to be babied a bit more than the Eco but with good care an alloytec...

    Advice on vz calais!

I bought ssv's from a bloke off a ve with the wrong profile for $1200, I got them drilled out for $160, got correct tyres for $540 including balancing (and new genuine nuts which weren't necessary cause my car already had the correct nuts for $80) hopefully Incan sell the old tyres their in...
