I think the problem is "YOUR BROTHER" put a second hand motor in, you dont know how many K's its done or whether the previous owner hammered it.

    Clarkson does it again....

He will probably have trouble getting a taxi next time he comes to Australia. The Indians are the most racist nation on earth, anyone remember the Andrew Symons incident, and during the T20 Cricket they banned black cheerleaders from participating because they were BLACK (yeah i know, fair enough)

    My 07 Black SSV

You will get picked up pretty quick by the coppers if they see you have HID on your low beams, they do stick out like dogs balls.Avoid Hindley Street and Jetty Road at night. Having said that i did the fog lights and high beams in HID, the fog lights are now great for highways but im not...

    Thirsty VB - 1979

Big bucks to fix up the old VB, The only old commodore getting and spending money on would really be the VC HDT if you can find one now, i remember a work mate had one and regrets selling it all them years ago.
  11. The_Doctor

    Double Demerits.

Its a Grey area, a mate was driving on his UK license and got picked up for speeding, no points lost because he had a foreign license.I think they may have told him that when he gets a W.A license the points will be added.

Your VE- What problems have you had

Thats right, but in Auto mode it should kick back, i dont use active select on highways now, too scarey if you forget to knock it back a few notches when you overtake them road trains.....but thanks for the tip on Sports Mode, i didnt realise that now i will probably stay in Sports Mode all the...

    Double Demerits.

    Brake pads vz SS

Maybe a harder compound, better the disc wear the pad than the pad wear than the disc. Bendix is the best money can buy but hey, some people also use Black & Gold brand oil from Woolworths.

Your VE- What problems have you had

Gee i should have read the User Manual, but as for the point of an engine kicking back in Auto, try this : get behind a semi trailer at 100kph the put into active select mode and go to 6th gear ( you can also do the same in a manula just select 6th), now try to overtake that semi like that...

"Expert" claims dropping speed limits by 10kmph will save lives...

Many on this forum have turned old cars into death traps by way of suspension and wheel modifications. This being said there should be stricter policies on older cars, like no mods, engineers certificate every 2 years at a Government Inspection Centre, the current RWC is a waste of time where...

    what wax to use

Actually read again and then go to Repco and look what the 3 Steps for the Mother wax is. Its an answer to his question, not the BS left by the other "life coach", which didnt answer his questrion just ranted off on a tangent.
  21. The_Doctor

    what wax to use

AND FOR A PROPER ANSWER......use Carnauba Wax, Mothers make a good one that comes in a 3 Step application, or if you dont need the 3 Steps use just the wax, available in all auto shops like Repco etc.
  22. The_Doctor

Good to see your only Mod will be tinting, too many people do stupid things like lowering that catch coppers eyes, you may want to get a front spoiler lip protector for them curbs. Not a big fan of silver or red cars, my dream car is the Series 2 HSV GTS in the same colour as my SSV, Hazard...

To quote the boys from Chipmaster "Since last issue we have tested 6 different 3" combo's from Difillipo ,Xforce ,Manta ,D&T ,Sureflow and KPM and all have made similar power but each and every system has droned badly", so which magic system do you have? Do I need a dyno tune or not ?

LATE REPLY BUT: Thinks a river, a river flowing fast but build a dam and the speed of the river slows, now remove the restriction, the DAM (EXHAUST SYSTEM), and the river will speed up again. Air flows like water, if there is a restriction at the end of the flow it slows(restricts) the the flow...

  40. The_Doctor

    Exhaust queries???

It is louder at all times, I don't really notice it much but then I maybe lucky I've driven locomotives for 20 years and the hearing has suffered. All modifications to an exhaust system that make it louder will result in higher noise levels (drone) when cruising and those that say theirs doesn't...
