Just adding my findings. MY09 SV6 sedan. Fitted kings low KHRL-125SL rear, dropped 25mm from stock FE2 to 350mm hub to guard. Fitted lovells sports low IFL-114SL front, dropped 25mm from FE2 to 380mm.

The mail order tune would be fine, but as always: a tune done in person will be better. But that is also reflected in the cost. Exhaust, if budget is the concern, something like a redback is great. If you can stretch to a manta system, you will likely be happier. Hit up not_an_abba_fan on here

You should be able to unclip the fuel filter with your fingers, but yes tools are easier. The o2 sensors are indeed most important when cruising - but they are used by the ecu at all times once operating temperature is reached. (Closed loop operation is entered meaning the ecu looks at the o2...

Get onto mace, get their intake, manifold spacers, 1.9:1 rockers, 69mm throttle body (so you can say 69 more often...), and then get an ecu tuned to suit. Also new plugs, leads, oxygen sensors and clean your MAF sensor if none of that's been done recently..? Should feel all that at once! Lastly...

Over oiling the k&n can cause issues when the excess oil builds up on the maf. Just a though. Oxygen sensors are recommended to be change every 60,000km by Bosch (who invented the oxygen sensor...), so likely they're due. Inlet manifold gaskets are common, and can gunk things up with a small...

Another thing to do would be to check another vehicle at the dealership. If its normal as the service manager says, all the cars on the lot will do it the same.

VY is the last model in that line up of ecotec powered vehicles, so in essence it is the refined model after 10 years of history... They are a nice car, and nothing out of the ordinary goes wrong with them.

As Sabbath suggested in your other post with this same question, they appear to be an aftermarket rim with HSV centre caps on them. I have transformers centre caps, unfortunately they aren't genuine transformer rims...

Altima is the replacement for maxima being released this year, pulsar is called pulsar and is out now... Unfortunately will use the same front wheel drive V6 the maxima has, not a patrol v8 and rear drive.

Should have a trans fluid dipstick on the drivers side near firewall. Check it when the engine is at operating temp, idling in park.

Probably the inlet manifold gaskets. Common as buggery, maybe able to torque down the manifold as a temporary fix, but best off replacing them when you can :)

Our old vx ecotec with 165,000km used to average 17L/100km around town. Had new o2 sensors, fully serviced, etc. Had enclosed pod filter, 2.5" cat-back exhaust, and 20" rims. Long trips (constant highway) showed 8.0L/100km so proved it was still alright. That was liters used versus kilometers...

No tune, 6psi (stock pulley) to be safe. Extractors, exhaust, dual cats or high flow single, breathing mods, may all help manifold pressure to stay down.

Did you sort your tail lights? A high resistance can cause excess current draw to blow your fuse, eg bad connection, poor earth, globe about to pop, etc. Also, looking great!

Possible that you've damaged the clock spring or more likely in this case, put too much pressure on the horn/airbag pad and done some damage. I'd start with a trouble code read and clear, if problem continues, prob need a new airbag.

If it still has the original struts, nows a good time to replace them too...

Likely it will reoccur, rare for a "hiccup" in the system. If the fault was there still, the light and chime would remain. Some faults will show the lamp for 5 starts after the fault occurred. Others reset after key off and on as you've seen. Remember, the light will come on when any sensor sees...

Looks shmick on the vx ss rims, awesome buy! Try and pick up a 3.45 or 3.46:1 LSD if its your daily drive, should keep the fuel usage bearable ;)

If you're going super low springs, I think no spoiler. If you're staying fe2, keep it on :)

Have you ever owned a vehicle with abs before? Anti lock braking systems do indeed have a different feel from traditional systems, and can be misleading to new users...?

See if you can buy a rear muffler section for it instead of hotdog/straight pipe at the back. Should make a big difference. Otherwise yeah, buy another cat-back with two mufflers.

I guess the question is: which sensor will affect the timing as such an not set off a DTC?

Please tell me that's your flat chested mrs on your bike? Lol Like the look of the ute :) The rims you may get sick of, depends on your local roads as much as anything else (and when it's time to replace your tyres..). I like the Maloo front, and besides why change it when you bought it already...

Sounds more like either an ac gas leak or something electrical is burning and smoking? What does it smell like?? The evaporator could be leaking gas into the vehicle, but if that's the case it won't work much longer (gas runs out quickly when the system has a leak like that).

Have you double checked that the feed and return lines to the rail are on the correct ways? Can they even be swapped?? I'm still thinking fuel pump, but weird that its only since you had it apart :( Mine has been playing up since replacing the plugs the other week?
