Hey Guys, Long story short, my ramjet otr is junk and is currently sealed with duct tape because the housing has warped and it's not sealing at the top. Looking to swap it with a VCM or similar, since I already have a tune for this intake am I going to need a re-tune?

Checked mine again and it looks brand new (though dunno if the water spray washed the gunk off it). Haven't had an issue since that day so might just avoid flooring it when I've been in heavy rain for a long time.

Well I've only had it on the car for 15 thou and it still looks pretty red even after being drenched. You reckon it would need re-oiling?

Yeah it is. Better to grab a genuine part off ebay as it'll save you a lot of coin. I got it for my AUG11 build and the difference in the maps is massive (was missing whole suburbs in Canberra before the update).

Wow that's pretty hectic. I've always been able to resolve any iq glitch I've had (reverse camera not turning on/off, frozen or black display, no audio) simply by turning the motor off and back on.

I got blades from autopro for $60. Thought it was steep but sounds like I got a decent deal. They're dead easy to fit.

+1 Also be a bit careful with that one because I recall there being a surveillance mode where it disables the brake lights and that could get you in a bit of trouble.

Can't say I've noticed my car blowing steam after more than about 10mins of driving.

I've had it happen to me a couple of times. Never coincided with a news report or any other announcement just turned on whatever station I last tuned into. Only thing I can guess is someone stuffed up at the radio station and accidentally hit the wrong button.

I had mine intermittently working and it required the entire centre console removed and the control board swapped. Thankfully covered under warranty.

I've had similar issues since the latest update on my galaxy s2. Basically I've found that it does hang up it just takes a long time for the IQ to realise and return to music. I'd be interested if someone has figured out a fix though.

Depends on the model. The Calais and Caprice have options in the menu to adjust the sensitivity (well at least they did in the VZ). Haven't seen it on the SS-V and lower VE's though.

Unfortunately can't help, but I'd like to hear about what you get coz I'm in the same boat and not really liking the idea of 4k+ to do the zorst, tune and otr when I only want a good note with no drone.

Shouldn't be a problem as the tweeters have their own wiring and filter built in. Having better mid range might accentuate the nastiness of the stock tweeters though.

I'm still running the bridgestone re050 from factory but now that they've got 30 thou on em they're lousy in the wet. Dry grip is still great but I'll be swapping them for something that's more consistent over the wear of the tyre. Might try some Maxxis Victra z4's since they worked a treat on...

They will work and sound better but you'll have to crank the head unit right up to get any volume if they're 4ohm (ie if you liked stock at 24 you'll likely hit around 32 after the change). If you like it loud I'd advise getting them amped. I'm considering it with my polk db6501's at the moment.

Gotta say I'm a fan of the Maxxis stuff too. Used to run Maxxis Victra Z4's on my vz calais and they gripped really well (driving in the wet was basically the same as in the dry) and lasted about 50 thou (would have been longer if I'd bothered to get regular wheel alignments).

One of the guys at work got a perfect blue ss-v shortly after I got mine in Voodoo (I bought a new one in oct 11 and he got one a few months after). And after seeing em side by side I'd pick Voodoo every time.

Never had that problem. Mine just won't let you browse the phone book or call history which doesn't bother me coz the IQ has weird sorting so it was hard to find stuff in it anyways. Stock firmware had all the functions working though.

If you're dead set on a V8 make sure you check out a 300C. Kinda wish I'd checked it out myself when I was buying even if I was sold on the Holden from the start. I'd be goin the SS-Z if it was me picking from your list though.

Usually with cruise problems it's the stalk that's busted in some way (usually the rocker switch). I heard it was a common prob with the VZ too as it's got the same system. As for if it's related to your stereo/HVAC woes I can't say. Best to get it in to holden and see what they say.

You got an IQ headunit? or the series one style? If it's the IQ then the usb port will be in the centre console under the armrest.

Seen it on my own car. 2011 SS-V Sedan. I like the idea of switching it from red to blue because it'd clash less with the voodoo blue but I'm not a fan of messing with speedos even if I'll likely never see the needle at 280.

Hmm according to that article if you swap an SS-V cluster (280kmh speedo) for a calais/caprice (260kmh speedo) one you'll have an inaccurate speedo at speeds over 120km. Methinks I'll stick with the stock item...

When you've been synching the phone, have u put the handset into visible mode and used the head unit to find the phone? I've heard a lot of people have probs when they use the phone to discover the head unit.

+2 TBH you'd be better off scrapping it and getting another car. They're never as good as they were after that much repair work goes into em.
