    A/C and thermofans?

Hey all. Need some info from all you knowledgeable people. Im trying to work out what is going on with my AC. Ive noticed when im at idle, the AC doesnt perform at all. Will blow warm air for days. But when driving (even at low speeds) suddenly the AC works and i get cold air from the vents...

    Aircon not cold

Something that i missed for over a year was that if you press the ok button on the steering wheel controls, you can control both fan speed and temp using the dials/wheels. left is speed, right is temp. I have the same issue where sometimes (mostly just after starting the car) i cant control the...

    Repurpose Phone button

quick follow up, for those who have the aerpro Fp9350 (bk or gk), and dont know this, once the car has booted fully, the steering wheel controls can be used to control the Climate control. You simply press in the left wheel and it activates. after 5 seconds of no input they revert to radio/HU...

    Repurpose Phone button

Ahh that suck. Means bcm or ecu reprogramming doesnt it? Edit: never mind. So it seems my hu does see and respond to the phone button in carplay mode. Only just worked this out after purchasing the quadlock wireless carplay adapter. Only usually use wired carplay for long trips/nav via waze

    Replacing sparkplugs

Id be curious to know the answer as well. When i first got my VE, i did the usual fluids, plugs and coils. After a quick search, i went with some Twin Tip Iridium plugs but im now wondering if theyre underperforming and i need something else. Ive had one die on me and cause a misfire.

    Repurpose Phone button

Hey all. After having just fit a Paddle shift kit to my '10 International, ive got the itch to work on the old girl again. One thing that has always bugged me is the Phone button on the steering wheel controls. I have actually removed the BT module thats above the glove box as i have BT on my...

Accelerator peddle showing 20% at idle (edited)

I think some wires have gotten crossed. I understand that the throttle body/butterfly will never be 0%. Yes that will stall the engine. I am using a zus bluetooth dongle. Yes i know its not a tech2. The data PID i am looking at is called APS. This actively responds to changes in the accelerator...

Accelerator peddle showing 20% at idle (edited)

Yeah just seems strange its not 0-100%. That its 20-100%. In my mind i expect when the accelerator peddle is not pressed and is fully up it would show 0% not 20%. I can understand if it was the throttle body always showing 20% just not the peddle itself.

Accelerator peddle showing 20% at idle (edited)

Yeah its always done the high idle on cold starts. Eg first thing in the morning or after 6 hours sitting off at work. But will try. The controller has an off mode and that still shows the same 20%

Accelerator peddle showing 20% at idle (edited)

Hey guys/girls/others. Done some searching and came up dry. I noticed on a long drive today that my 2010 VE SIDI 3.0 was showing my APS (accelerator peddle sensor??) locked at 20% while i had cruise control set. I tried disabling cruise control and still showed 20%. Im wondering if this is...

    VE noise top of dash

If its got the centre speaker, it could be a loose/shorted connection somewhere thats causing among other things audio interference and thats what youre hearing.

    Climate control

Well by unplugging it youve eliminated the facia as the problem. Im guessing that it has a short somewhere. Its going to be a process of tracing the wires back to sthe fuse box and see if there are any green crustys anywhere. A short has 3 states, short to ground, open circuit and short to...

Thoughts on my potential future project 2009 VE SV6

I recently purchased a 2010 ve international. Has the 3.0 sidi and 6 spd semi auto. Very happy with my purchase. Would have preferred less than the 275k kms it has on it but for $4k i am not complaining. Become quite addicted to driving it in manual mode with a “spirited” right foot. Having...

    "Ron Burgundy" 08' VE Omega.

Yeah the problem ive found is that the buttons are not just soldered but also glued to the pcb. Makes removing them with no damage a bit difficult. If i knew the button part number i would be tempted to solder one on the contacts for the boot button on my remote as i can see the pads there to...

    VE Commodore Wagon

Sounds like you have some harness chasing to do. Most likely to be a rubbed thru wire/wires. As you said it changes when you unplug the door, its most likely door side of the plug. The lights/dome light works by a switch that grounds a wire to the chassis when door is open (well thats how my vy...

    "Ron Burgundy" 08' VE Omega.

When i bought my 2010 ve, the unlock button was crapped out. Had to unlock via the key. With a worn out key blade nonetheless. Would take up to 15 seconds to get the key to turn in the ignition. But my horn never blared. Just bipped every second til i turned the key. That got old quick. After...

    Confused

Sounds like water intrusion in a couple places. Check the carpet in the passenger front footwell and see if its wet. Did you drive thru any deep puddles? Water spraying up under the car could be shorting out a connection somewhere.

Updating PCM in 08 VE Omega

Just out of curiosity, did they change the oil pump when they did the chains? Im wondering if its not a lowish oil pressure not pumping up the tensioners for the timing chain. Or that after a while of running the pump drops pressure enough for this to happen. Just guessing here. May be...

    Clock fuse

On my sony hu there is an option for specifying band range and steps for radio. Maybe this is off. But the biggest question, how old are you that you prefer listening to radio over streaming a service like spotify over bt? Must be in ya 50-60’s lmfao

    Clock fuse

Should be a light green wire. Designed to be ran to the hand brake switch. Most people just attach this to chassis earth. Easier than running it under trim

Idk what hu you have, but on my sony cav-ax1000, in my settings, i have the option to custom assign steering control inputs. Ive used this for a couple years to swap my seek and volume buttons as i like having skip on my right hand. Generally i dont adjust volume nearly as often as i change...

    Clock fuse

Just to be crystal clear, this is the aerpro facia kit? You said you know how to reset it. Right knob with the facia in standby/turned off? I reckon the easiest way to achieve what youre looking to do is to pull the plastic trims apart and unplug the lcd screen. Seems the simplest option.

Commodore VE SSV 2011 passenger door won’t open from the inside or outside

But this wont gain access to the necessary components. If the handle and lock indicator are both still connected, then its the latch thats broken, Meaning cutting the door card on the left edge to gain access to the mechanism is the only way to get the door open, access the screws holding the...

Commodore VE SSV 2011 passenger door won’t open from the inside or outside

No it wont open it. If your latch is broken it will just bend the frame. Do me a favour. Get in the back seat (i assume its the back door as you havent specified to my knowledge which passenger side door it is) of your car and pull each door handle at the same time. Do they feel the same? Do...

    VE TCM Symptoms and location

Im guessing the reason you cant find a tps is because it doesnt have one as its drive by wire. The old school tps was designed to allow the ecu to know where the throttle is as it was cable driven. Now a days its all done with the ecu as the middle man. If i had to guess, i would say it may be...

Commodore VE SSV 2011 passenger door won’t open from the inside or outside

All else fails, lay down on the back seat and give it a boot or two on the edge where the lock mechanism is. Do this with someone pulling on the outside handle (and there to catch the door when it flies open.
