you can get calais clusters that are black and imo are the best looking one available, especially with some white led's or something in there just make sure the one you get is from a vy series 2, or else your fuel guage will read upside down

if its a 6l most likely, ls1, no. if you tell your tuner you want 300rwkw he will give you a dyno sheet that says you got 300rwkw. dyno's can easily be fudged, take it too the strip if you wanna know its capabilities

cop chip, red coil packs, 15mm coil leads for a stronger spark. this combo has been proven to get you 250rwkw on a vn v6 before, so you should be able to fry tires with ease... ill try find the dyno graph for ya

being a series 2 vt mate theyre different. im think they may be able to be modified but not 100% positive.. if i were in your position id be keeping a look out for either a diff from a manual ss, they have 3.46, or hsv manuals are 3.7, might only be in the z series though not entirely sure, but...

is it actually slipping or is your tranny light coming on? you would be able too feel it slip, the revs will go up alot faster then your actually moving, and since you've just had it rebuilt unless it was a VERY dodgey workshop, i dare say it's not the gearbox..

not too sure about the 6HDD to 8HDD but your problems definitely sound like tranny problems. as you mentioned slipping bands. won't do it when your pottering around because there isnt as much load/stress on them. bad example but in my mums car you take off causal all is well, put the foot down...
