go an s mate. its more or less an exec with all the sports frills. i love my vy-s. one of a kind...now...wouldnt have been happy with anything less.

In a series 1 S the top half of the door mirrors are black, whereas series 2 S are colour coded to the car (like the ss). Also in series the 1, the rear boot garnish around the number-plate is all black, whereas series 2 is highlighted the same colour as the car. Other than that, exactly the same.

Yeah I don't think its a series 1 thing though because "vy_acclaim" in this thread here said he had similar problems and he has a series 2 acclaim...?? Who knows? Either way, its not a difficult mod, I mean...they haven't fallen out! :D

ok, so i was going to take new pics but I haven't had time....the ones i've attached were taken a few months ago now, they aren't the greatest but they give you idea you're looking for.... the car has since been lowered and looks a lot better but taking photos requires effort :yeah:

I wondered the same when I went to put 18s on. It was either the VY or the VZ. In the end I went for VZ because its not that common to see the VZ wheels on a VY (in my case, hothouse green with vz ss wheels) and second of all I found that just about everyone was getting the VY ones and...

if its a stock exec like your info suggests then no, there is no wiring there. the wiring is only there for the "higher end" models. looks like a job for your local auto electrician.

I'd reckon drop it an inch and a half thereby keeping it legal. Afterall, theres no point in spending a sh!tload to drop it heaps and then have the cops defect and hassel you to change your springs. I've got 18s and I dropped mine 35mm all round. That will bring your wheel arches a finger width...

Agreed. I dont think you'll find too many interested parties when you advertise your car for sale with the same pic that anyone can look up on Holden's main site...

With a little modification yes they will, and you can expect to pay about $400. The globe holders for the VY loom dont fit the tail light, so you could buy the VZ loom OR just save yourself a few bucks and modify it like I did. Also, I believe the passanger side tail light needs to have a lug...

heheh! although I think I read in another thread before that the bolt holes are in differnt spots on the VY front bar, so you have to drill new holes to bolt the VZ foglights in. i dunno how true this is as i got the proper vy ones - wish i got the vz though, the clear lens is so much better!!

i think what he means in a better sentence is that the globes will fit your actual vy headlight housings but the actual housing themselves CANNOT be swapped without modyfying your front bar to that of a VZ (be it executive or SS). no doubt you've noticed the vy has a "teardrop" which the vz doesnt.

Does anyone know if the VZSS front grill will fit into the VYS? I had a look at pictures of both and they appear identical but in reality they are probably totally different. Have a look:
