I've got HSV extractors and I can't see or hear any cracks, not like my VT anyway. I've got the manifold gaskets at home, would it pay to put a fresh set in and clean everything shilst I'm there? What does a map sensor do apart from monitor manifold pressure?

1989 VN V6. Runs pretty rough. Checked codes and got a 13. Replaced oxy sensor, ran better and got a code 44(mixture lean). What's next? I've done air filter, fuel filter and I run it in premium. Thanks.

I cleaned it but I might chuck another one on as bursons is doing an efi sale. MAP sensor is Manifold pressure yes? What part of the fuel/ignition system does it control/trim?

I cleaned a spare one I had and that's on there so yes.

It's only got 220k on the clock. It's pretty quiet apart from the alternator bearings. Could it throttle body/ sensor related?

Surely that's not going to cause a miss like that. I understand the fluctuating idle but the miss sounds eclectronic.

Hey guys. Got myself a VN S1 HSV Enhanced SV20. Drives very well, except for one thing. On idle the revs aren't going crazy but they are a little up and down. Also when I hold the revs up at about 1500-2000 the car misses and fluctuates rpm. Driving normally its a rocket and you wouldn't know...

So I posted a while ago about my 1989 HSV Enhanced VN Commodore. The build plate says SV 20 and it has all the bits it should. Does anyone know how many there are. I can't find any info except the SV option sheet. I can't ever find a photo of one! Any help or info would be appreciated :)

Im pretty sure the crank angle sensor sends signals to the cam angle sensor and DFI so if the CAS wiring is stuffed it wont spark! I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS WE SPEAK!!! Turn the ignition on and check the voltage at the CAS plug, that will tell you straight away if its the CAS wiring itself..

Thanks guys :) Yeah i already put the other type of coils on to try them, it still ran pretty bad. Im going to try a fuel system check but ill start with the filter and cleaner. I might check for vaccum leaks too? Would that cause similar problems?

As it says, I have headlights indicators and brake lights but nothing in the dash and no rear parkers. I havent fiddled with anything but i may have bumped something in my travels. I checked the fuses and relays and its all good. Any ideas of where too look? Im guessing under the dash but...

330000 With inlet manifold gaskets and a water pump. I use Penrite 15W60 Full synthtic and i service every 8000. My car sees the redline atleast once or twice a day and has done since 250000 and its still runs quiet and smoothly... Now ive jynxed myself -_-

The T5 feels more solid but i dont go nuts in my car so im happy with my Getrag. ^ HD cluth at the lights is intense sh** :)

Or, you only have one working. Its common for the low speed fan to blow the relay and it will warm up more befor the fast one kicks in to save the day. In your case it souns like the low speed is the only one working and the fast one is not so it cant keep cool??

Even if the water pump was shot the thermos will still kick in at half. Coolant temp sensor is fine because hes getting a reading on his gauge so id start with the thermo fuses and relays. Or check if they are plugged in? :)

So i swapped the motor and checked out the old one. Timing chain tensioner... Gone... Balance shaft bearing and cam bearing... gone... 3mm crankshaft endfloat.. existant. Enough said, engine was cooked :)

Check the thermo fan relays/fuses! Mine did the same thing but it ended up being that. The engine temp will be fine on the HWY but when you get into some stop start no thermos will cause this. Just let the car warm up and idle, if it gets to 3/4 and no thermos thats what it will be. Hope this...

Love my Getrag. Fully Syn Oil and Nulon treatment = 1 finger gear changes. Sure it whines like nothing on earth but its a wonderful box and if you dont drive like a twat it really performs well. Driven both T5 and Getrag and apart from the cost of replacement parts Getrag ands down :)

I put an Auto VT V6 into my Manual VS S2 and I put the flywheel on with no dowell pins, it was just a pain in the butt to line up the holes because it only goes on one way. Dowell pins arent for strength its just to line it up. I have a Getrag with a heavy ass Dual mass flywheel and all i did...
