    Plug can only go one way as its 4 pins one side 3 pins others so it can't be run 180. Batts fine @12.5, wirings fine and fuse and relay good. I'm thinking maybe the inhibitor has been broken inside even thought the pins look ok.

    Correct. But that shouldn't be a issue as everything in the vx is original. The ecu doesn't know if the motors been physically changed as its only a mechanical change.

    The pins on the inhibitor switch pad? Nah there only one way that can go back on. Yep both signal and main power wire back on starter. I have a spare inhibitor switch in storage that I may try tomorrow to eliminate that. But it's just strange that the fuel pump keeps running and CTS registers...

    Limp home mode will still allow a start and run. Timing will be locked to 10degrees and will be locked in 3rd you will still have dash though as that's all controlled from bcm. I'd say you have a power or earth problem.

    Vt ones will come down and where the join from 4-2 they seperate aaway from each other then follow each other again. This is so the rack pinion to steering shaft can come up between them. Pre vt follow each other closely and hug the block.

    Ah ok sorry I thought you were talking about the rack tie rod ends being the same on a series 1 didn't realise you meant the hoses to. But to confirm it was out of a vx so was a later model rack. Would that then mean that the ls1 and vts2 ecotec onward hoses were the same?

    Thanks for the the reply guys. i ended up taking the wheel off to check the position of the clock spring. was 180 off to left. so i restraightened the clock spring until i was 2.5 turns anti clockwise from the righthand lock position. rebolted steering wheel and airbag back up. all is good...

    If its a stock 304 pre vs3 manual ecu then you may run into problems, pre vs3 motors are map not maf. 2nd is that the late vs and vt are roller motors and seqeintial injection. cut along story short youll need a atleast vt ecu. if your talking a non hsv ecu but still a vt, then it should work...
