What’s the best anti theft option to do or install

Are those wheel lock things of the late 90s early 2000s still a thing? If so, get one of those. No one would even look at my shitbox thru uni, but I still put the lock on it every time. Also, it doubles up as a 2 ended marital aid as well as a nice batton in case you ever get into trouble.

    running eth vs unleaded 91/98

When you go out with the boys/girls, do you reach for the lowest goon/alcopop available or do you have a crown larger/coopers/johny black? Same thing with your car. Why would you put garbage fuel through the engine? Keep running e10 through it and you'll have to throw it out in a few years.

Car won't start or even crank

Ken Oath! Give me a carby manual any day over this new "hot garbage" thats in cars... Some of them even have LCD screens where the vents are... fkn why?!?

CORRECT FUEL. Independents v Established Brands

Fk BP. I've boycotted them ever since the Gulf of Mexico oil spill that they did nothing about. Zero environmental responsibility.

    02 sensors

OP if everything is plugged in where things should be, I've had issues with car computer not wanting to recognise new parts in the past. Disconnected battery for about good 2 hours or so and try again. This would flush anything stored on CPU (forget the technical term sorry) and start fresh...

    2007 ve sv6

VE's have the electronic throttle and they've also installed a limiter on revs (at least in idle) to max out at 4000 RPM. IF OP flooded it in neutral/park, I just dont think it would be possible to do that with e-carbs. Likely the chains are out of alignment/skipped a tooth. OP, do you have a...

    VE Window Outside Rubber

G'day Folks, Apologies I dont know what the specific name/s for the part is: So the guards between the window and the metal door on the passenger side, both front and back, have the outside protector worn out, which means when it rains water gets inside the window. Not really an issue as I...

car spluttering when taking of and jerking when slowing down

Check to see sensor is still working properly. If you dont have a diagnostics tool, I would strongly encourage you to get one. They're as much as 2 packs of smokes if you're a fancy bogan and smoke menthol malboros. The tool should help you trouble shoot errors with ease. As for the intake...

    Ve commodore starts then stalls

Were they done by you or a professional/mechanic? Timing chains need to have special care when replacing as even a tooth difference can mean misalignment of everything.

    Harmonic balancer replacement cost?

Not to laugh at your misery, but this is exactly why I outsourced. Sure it's a bit more expensive than doing it yourself and yes you did learn a few things, but you need to ask yourself, what is the price of my sanity and 2 days worth of misery/swearing/equivalent of having your balls in a vice...

    VE Frequently Asked Questions

What errors did the diagnostic test throw out mate? We're going to need more info... Could be throttle body, could be ABS is done and needs replacing, could be timing chain on top as well... Disconnect battery for about 40 mins then start her up again. If errors persist do diagnostic test and...

    Harmonic balancer replacement cost?

Seems tis the season for harmonic balancers... My VE was starting to sound just like all the other older commodores (that distinct rattle that has you on edge but you know it's probably the pulleys). Took it to my local trustworthy mechanic, turns out a few pullies and the balancer itself are...

timing chains done still getting P0017 on 2009 sv6 LLT

It's likely you havent put the chain on properly and messed with the timings, one or more teeth out can do that. I'm a tard when it comes to these chains so I let mechanics do it, outsource risk that way.

    E10 vs 98RON

Fk E10... When you're on the piss you're not drinking passion pop or goon bags to get drunk unless times are tough are you? Why? Because that **** is nasty.... Same with your car. Why would you feed her the car equivalent goon?

Check Engine + Low Power in low revs

G'Day Folks, Apologies for yet another "Check Engine" thread, but my research/reading has come up with little; I own a second hand, second driver Jul 2007 VE Lumina with 144 444 just passed on the clock. She's been in the car port most her life, with a few road trips a year. Regular servicing...

    Moisture in tail light?

If you are not fussed OP, I drilled 2 very tiny holes in mine and using a small hose I blew in and made a slight pressure chamber. This forced out the water, but now I have 2 small holes :\

    2007 Ve engine noise/light

Would you say once every 6 months is acceptable? What about if it sits in the driveway half the time? I think OP meant it was low on oil. These cars need at minimum 7L of full synthetic (read expensive) oil. Anything below that you run the risk of overheating. Sludgy/gruggy oil means it hasn't...

HOLDEN COMMODORE VE 2010 3.0L SIDI CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Hey OP, does your problem happen if the car idles or is it just at the lights/being driven? If the manual says use 98, then you better stick to that. Risking E10 to save a few $$ at the pump is a bad idea, as it may be $$$$$ later down the track. I would use up all that petrol quick and then...

    Ve immobilised

Hey, OP, not being condescending, but if you use proper words and grammar, we are more likely to understand what the problem is better, and therefore be able to help you. I suggest going through the fuses to be sure, then check to see if the light is still on

    Alloytec and You

Hello Xplaya. Sorry to keep you hanging. I have been rather fortunate with my Lumi, but she's getting old now... One of the actuators is likely to be acting up (thanks to this fucked wet weather). Anyway I have had: - ABS light come on and off at least 12 times in it's lifetime, with having to...

Ok, So I realise this is a necro and a half thread, but I just want to take the time and say thank you to all those who replied and gave me comfort. Since then she's done 138000 on the speedo (I dont drive much) and still going strong. Due for new sparkies tho. Thanks mate, I normally keep it...

Replacement of VE Driver's Side Belt Buckle

G'Day All, I seem to be having a problem with the driver's belt buckle and would like to get it replaced. I will be going straight to Holden for the part (I'd rather not risk it); I just need instructions on how to properly replace it. Anyone have any tips, pointers or videos on how it's done...

06 VE Drivers side window outer seals

06 VE Drivers side window outer seals

Hi All, Long time lurker, second time poster. My VE seems to have the outer weather seals on the drivers window going and need to be replaced... I can hear water swirling around in the door and dont want it to be a bigger problem. How do you recommend I go about this? I've had a look at Ebay...

    Kumho KU22 vs KU27

Thanks Lads. Many more people elsewhere have said Kumho's aren't that good in wet weather. I've been running with 27's in the front, and am yet to see slippage... maybe it's my grandma like driving

    Kumho KU22 vs KU27

Hi All, Time has come to replace my rear Potenza's on the VE. I've done my research, and would go based on what I've read here, and stick with Kumho. The front 2 are currently Ecsta LX ku27. I've rang my local shop/s, and they're $70 pricier than the ku 22's. Normally I'd go with the...

    Rattling/Thumping noise in the rear

Hi All, I have a rattling (sounds like thumping; kinda like a rattling rock in a bottle) noise coming from the rear driver side of my VE, much like these guys, and it is driving me insane! It only happens on low speeds and going over small bumps/ I have ruled out fuel cap & cap cord...

    reverse sensors stopped working

oh F*ck no... dont tell me that... I have reverse parking sensors on mine too. OP, if you rectify the problem, please let us know. Also, I think the forum regulars might want more info: -when it happened; have you changed anything since it worked last; has it happened before etc, etc

    Fuel and your VE

Thats standard bro. I get 14.5 per 100km in a 25km stretch of 60 zone, stop start all the way. Sadly there isn't many places I can treat her as a h/way car (to and from work rather) @V8 guy/girl: How much it cost you for a full tank?

    Fuel and your VE

If I wanted arse-hole responses, I would have gone to the pub instead. Did you ever stop and think not everyone is well off as you are? To those that did provide legit answers, I thank you. It seems these cars weren't made for cramped CBD's like Sydney, rather the open country roads

    Fuel and your VE

Hi all, I recently switched from a 4cyl 1.3 to a 07 VE V6, and am crying every time I fill up. Anyway, I wanted to know what is most economical, both for the car and km/l, in terms of E10, Unleaded91, 95 and 98. Give us open road or city riving stats.
