yep. that is the best way to remove engine on these cars. Unplug harness from ECU and feed back thru firewall and take harness out with engine.

Could be problem with one of your door switches for the interior light as they probably also work in with the door locks. Usually switch to earth so one of them could be earthing out or problem with wiring behind switch.

You would definately be better starting off with a 308. Modify that engine as you wish then just swap it over. Think you will find when you come to sell it buyers will prefer 308 even if not original engine.
