Also your intake manifold gasket is probably gone. Mace engineering do a great replacement compared to the holden replacement. Send them a message as they are a member on this site.

From what I have learnt from here always use coolant, as it has a lot of anti corrosive qualities. Straight water will eat away at every thing

Also if you have lost a fair bit of coolant you may as well Flush ur radiator and put new coolant in. As it is not wise to mix coolants. Go to the how to section and there will be step by step guide to flushing. Very easy to do worth it.

Easy to replace get some new hose clamps aswell when ur there. Just take a pic with ur phone and take hoses off and remember to put tiny vacuum hose back on the valve.

Heater tap. I think from memory they are $20-30 at repco.

Install a dash cam anything happens stand in front of the car. Or you could put a small sticker saying front and rear cam fitted.

Use the aftermarket. Didn't think they still made the plastic ones do they.

I picked up one of those solar fan things that clip into the window and you wind it up. Just put it into window on one side and leave small opening on window on the otherside. Helps a bit with the heat

The asus transformers have a USB. Don't know if it would be suitable.

If that plastic piece has broken off will go the rest of power steering system and wreck it.

Hi people I'm having a problem with my steering in my vr calais. Steering goes from hard to soft on highway and parked and at idle is hard to turn than will go soft. It's full of fluid and no leaks. I rang one mob and they said I have to replace everything. What are people's ideas on the problem...

Should be fine. Just leave one off at top front so if u do get seeping easy to wipe up

Should flush and change it if it's been awhile

Stick with an ecotec. Just drop it in.

Disconnect battery for 15 mins.

I'd just go with what ever repco has. Just don't go hee-man when doing up the bolt on the new pulley. Didn't think sold plastic ones anymore. Bolts on the pulley is normal thread. It's only the pretensioner that is reverse u only need to take the slack off to remove belt don't take it off...

Go to repco etc. pop ur bonnet and just remove pulley. First loose pretensioner pulley with a ring spanner pretty sure it's reverse thread and take belt off one pulley not completely off. Remove damaged pulley walk in and give it to them. They usually have them in stock. Takes like 5 mins.

Repco brand name oil is penrite oil if u are goin to buy penrite I've used it on a few cars with no problems. If u have mods done to ur car I'd go castrol. But everyone has there own choice

Park your car about 5 metres from a brick wall. Flick ur lights on and level them. Be good if u had another friend with the same car. Park at same distance he has and level to his height that's if his are level.

Hahaaa my father inlaw drives one. And when he brakes it's like hard on. Straight off about 5 times every set of lights. I just catch a cab now it's a little bit safer

Sounds like the switch under the selector is out of place or stuffed happened in my sisters car when I did the stereo sort of forgot to fix it back up. :)
