Hi all have a problem with my 5l. it cranks over very happily but wont fire. have checked error codes but only get 12 (all good) when turning key to on there is 2 distinct clicks from the fuse box under bonnet. engine fuse (20a) and fuel pump fuse (15a) seem ok. have done some relay swapsies but...

Also would a vacuum leak cause the symproms im getting?

i see that vr v8 does say vacuum leak for 36, but vs v8 has no 36 listed. i can assume theyre the same? is the brake booster best place to check vacuum? am i looking for a particular number, or just an erratic gauge? thanks

ive just bought a masterparts pump for mine, no play in it whatsoever. 65 from autopro. fitting it tomorrow, comes with gasket and pulley shim

water pump goes in tomorrow, never done a v8 one before, looks pretty straight forward. might do some pics of the changeout :blah blah:

F116 from what i can tell is cardinal red, except everyone tells me its rubens mica. but yeah, plans for now is to tidy her right up. and eventually go a 355 or 383 stroker

this has worked a treat, central locking now works on all doors. next time, ill disconnect the battery before plugging the new actuator in :)

another update, currently fixing my drivers door central locking, appears the actuator is knackered. waiting to go pick one up from the local wrecker. door skin was tricky to get off and the lock actuator is a dog to get at. rather than remove the whole locking assembly i cut some holes and...

sounds like your on the right track with the coil, ive seen a few 304's with the coil relocated to the firewall, whether that would help, im not sure. would make it easier to access

no idea really. is it a v6? have a look at the main cable to the back of the altenator, ive heard of these melting causing big probs

the green in yours kinda works, its not as slap u in the face as the red perhaps. and the red in mine was never done well

does it only do it in drive? rev it slowly to 2k in neutral and get a mate/missus/kid to have a suss under the bonnet

also the MAP sensor vacuum hose is connected at the sensor you said, but is it definitely connected at the back of the motor?

if u can get hold of another ignition module, it might be worth a shot, easier to get at than coil and dizz

every now and then the "ABS OFF" light would appear on the dash, not while driving along, but when starting the car it lights up and stays there till the car is off, next time u drive it isnt there. now its on all the time. tried bridging pins 5 and 12 but the light stays solid and doesnt flash...

road trip fell through so ive done the roof lining instead. $39 for suede look material from spotlight $17 for a can of kwik grip gel (500ml) lining out and material stripped off, it was obvious someone had tried to restick it before as orange foam was gone and crappy spray glue was everywhere...

your wiper arms look great, ill have to do mine soon. clear indicators look good on a dark car, but on white, i think i prefer the orange or tinted ones. and the oval ones, dont know why but the square ones look dated IMO

yeah the sequential number on the engine is slightly "older" than the vin. ive been told the engine's stamp is usually 6 weeks prior to the vin. but thats as close as i can get.

Lol mines the fuel gauge, I use the above technique.

5 amp fuse sounds low. Is that spec?
