    asbestos

I work in the electrical industry and would have had some unknown exposure over the last 10 years at work. The union and the company have cracked right down on what we can and can't do now and the PPE we need to wear depending on the risk. The place I work for gets the (Dust Disease Board)...

    What should I do?

if he has no idea/ability to fix a car himself he should of had insurance or researched what he needed before buying. as others suggested you could pay *most* of his money back, keeping a fair amount for stuffing around/time off work/re selling etc

Agents Fees - Selling a house

yep our last agent was bagging other agents for just whacking a few photos on the net to sell houses, he was claiming he had buyers on his books waiting for a house etc etc. in the end all he did was put our pictures up on the net and a small ad in the local paper for a week or two. had 1...

can anyone program an ignition key for 2001 hyundai accent?

i priced a key for 2001 accent earlier this year. it was $130ish from key man at shopping centre - i asked around and the price was about the same everywhere. but that was with me taking the key to them and using it to program a new one they can cut a 'normal' key like the one you have to...

    Advanced Driving Courses

i have done a defensive course through work (work for a large company and we must wreck heaps of cars/trucks). was theory on avoiding accidents/driving properly, then setting up the car (seat/steering wheel/mirrors) then braking and braking and turning, etc. it was a 1 day course and worth it...

    [VIC] Cargo Barrier Question

i'm not 100% sure, i bought a cargo barrier second hand for my wife's car and didn't get instructions either. i think you use the different brackets for different mounting positions, ie some brackets for mounting behind backseat, the other brackets for if you mount it behind the drivers seat...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

i had a chat with him last night, it seems he didn't think we would follow through with the threats of not getting presents. now he knows we will follow through with big threats so hopefully we don't need to make them anymore. he got half of his presents this morning, and will get more...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

he has been doing a few other silly things in the last few weeks, not damaging, just messy/stupid things. never had any problems with his behaviour when he was 2/3yrs old. he has been warned and warned for the last few weeks when we found the other things he had done.. don't do anything else...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

my 5yr old son who wanted to know what colour the car was under the black paint.. instead of taking the hard option of asking, he took the easy one involving a rock and the car door. not happy. he chose to do it the day before his 5th birthday, so no presents for him :| and if he doesn't make...

    Cracked Rim Repair (the truth)

i bought a set of used (from someone i knew) 18" mags once that had been repaired similar to yours. after 3 years the weld 'opened' enough to let the tyre lose pressure.. went back to same shop and had the wheel re-welded for under $100. lasted another year or two before i sold the car.

    Advice On Brake Pads

when i had my SSV i had used maybe 1 to 1.5mm of material in 80,000k's and still had 6-7mm left on the original pads (bendix). i spoke to a bendix person and they said that my usuage sounded about right and would last for a long long time, doing themselves out of some business. have you...

    VE SSV manual gear changes.

if anything like my misses she will drive carefully while you are in sight/ear shot and give it some stick when you can't see/hear it :) as for the bungs/fill points, have you downloaded a service manual yet? and also there was some tech notice to add an extra 500ml of trans fluid to help with...

    VIC: Written-off status

if people can't afford to throw $3 at a few cars they are interested in, then how can you afford the fuel to drive your new car home? when i was looking for my SS I found a car in a yard in sydney that seemed a bit cheap for its year/k's. rang the yard and spoke to them and it all seemed good...

    VE Commodore rim size

if the tyres on the car say 225/60 R16 it means it has 16" rims on it. are they mags or steel wheels? if you aren't sure i guess the nearest bob-jane, etc will be able to tell you, or even a holden dealer

anyone sold a VE SSV or SS lately?

there are still people out there wanting to buy them, just have to wait for the right one to come along. i think back in the days of cheaper fuel people wanted V8's and were prepared to pay for the cars and the fuel as it wasn't too expensive to run, now people still want them but aren't...

Question for people in the know with laws and fines etc

you say your parents don't have enough for a lawyer, but could you shout them a meeting with a lawyer? it will sort it out with more authority than a forum at a guess and might work out as a quick way to put everyone's mind at ease

anyone sold a VE SSV or SS lately?

i think the price is ok, just no buyers. i want the car gone, but i don't want to give it away just to get rid of it. the SSV is a hell of a lot nicer to drive than the hyundai i have to replace it..

anyone sold a VE SSV or SS lately?

thanks guys, just read through the advice and will give it another read. the dents that are there aren't very big, just small marks that accumulate over time somehow. figured i'd be better off mentioning them and pricing accordingly rather than having a lowish price because of the marks and...
