FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Simple choice for me really. More often than not, car only comes out on the weekends and I've noticed 90%+ of the time when I'm driving, I have the music turned down as I prefer to listen to the sound of the mechanicals working. The only time I ever have the music turned up and I'm actually...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Been a while since I've updated this thread, almost forgot all about it until someone on facey reminded me. Anyone know the best way to upload videos? Anyway, got myself some new wheels. Loved the BBS's but wanted a change. Koya SF04s 20x10 front and 20x11 rears. No 8.5s here...

VE E1 GTS wheels all 'round?

Hey, Just wodnering if anyone knows if 20x9.5" E1 GTS wheels all 'round will fit and clear the 4-pot AP Racing calipers? They will definitely clear the rear (they come standard in staggered fitment) but not sure about the front? Cheers.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Cheers mate! No dramas at all mate, I'll let you know when they come out. They're 1150cc so would that work for you? Hahaha I get what you mean, but apparantly if I go 427ci I will be losing too much cylinder wall thickness and might cause headaches when I shove exta boost down its throat...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

And people say I'm living the dream haha :spot on: Been looking at 2000cc injectors and twin in-tank pumps. Guess I'll be doing the fuel system first up.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

I'm going to purposely NOT look, cos if I do, there's no turning back hahaha nah, I think I'll be content with either using the LY6 block or even using my L98 block and go 402ci.

    Series 1 manual coversion

Yeah I've done the conversion. 10/10, would do again hahaha Seriously but, depends how attached you are to your car and how much you've spent on it already. If it's near stock or has pretty basic bolt on stuff, better off just selling and buying a factory manual. Things like pedal boxes...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Cheers mate! Hahaha would be great to keep the VE even if I buy a new rig but I've already got a company car for the daily commute so that would make 3 cars (4 if you include the missus's) so highly unlikely scenario. I would actually be leaning towards those two options if I was to...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Well has been a while since I've updated this thread. Late last year I brought a new house so have been busy modifying that instead. Finally found some time and motivation again for the car so decided to flush more money down the toilet. Realise not eveyrone is gonna like the new mods, cos not...

    HSV/AP Racing Calipers on S1 SS-V?

My reply was actually a bit misleading, cos I do need spacers to clear them haha soz!

    HSV/AP Racing Calipers on S1 SS-V?

Yep, trial fitted my rims on a mate's Maloo on the weekend and they JUST clear. Fingers crossed a stone doesn't flick up and get caught between rim and caliper though, cos it's tight

    HSV/AP Racing Calipers on S1 SS-V?

Cheers for the info! Just brought braided lines all round so that solves that issue :)

    HSV/AP Racing Calipers on S1 SS-V?

Was the caliper brackets and all that the same? Is the only thing I need to change is the brake lines to suit the E2 calipers?

    HSV/AP Racing Calipers on S1 SS-V?

Hey, Just brought myself a set of 4-pot AP Racing brakes for my S1 SS-V and was wondering if the brake lines need to be changed or can I re-use the SS-V ones? Also, was there any differences between E1, E2 and E3 4-pot brakes? I believe my ones are from a E2 but is anyone able to visually...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Thanks mate, probably the first and time I've ever been called a retard and been flattered by it. Haven't updated this thread in a while, so might give it an update soon. Quad projector headlights, custom front lip/splitter and AP Racing 4-pot brakes all 'round.

Rear brembos for 2012 SSV Redline

Nah no concave here, just dish. I'm pretty sure the fronts will be cool, just wondering with the rears. I'll chuck a tape measure to it when I get a chance and report back.

Rear brembos for 2012 SSV Redline

Brilliant, thanks a million mate! Good times ahead. On a seperate note, how much spoke clearance is requried to fit: 1) 6-pots up front 2) 4-pots up front 3) 4-pots rear

Rear brembos for 2012 SSV Redline

Sorry for thread dig, but saves making a new thread. I'm looking at buying both front and rear 4-pot brembos through Amazon but for some reason, only the drivers front and passenger rear are able to be shipepd to Australia, whereas the other calipers they won't deliver outside of the US? How...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Do you have a link for it? sounds pretty interesting cos I'm running 1200cc injectors on E85 and don't wanna spend mega bucks on overhauling the fuel pump side of things (~$3k drive in-drive out for Squash setup :( )

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Hahaha would love to but went back in for a touch up tune last week and we've noticed the ZL-1 fuel pump is starting to run out of legs up top so I'm on the hunt for a new fuel system now and shoot for 500rwkw. Either a Squash twin pump system or an external system with surge tank. Thanks mate! :D

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

That's a really good idea, but only problem is it's in plain view if I get pulled over :( dunno, might jsut keep it in the current spot now until I can figure something out. In the meantime, got some photos done.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Cheers guys! Hahaha yeah, apparently so! But unfortunately, that's when the car was only supercharged, old bonnet and auto :(

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Yeah, have thought about it but to be honest, I'm more interested in Powercrusie type events :D Got more pics but nothing too amazing to look at, seeing as I went the stealth route. Still waiting for a radiator cover panel to finish it off, but pretty much 99% there. Turbosmart...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Picked the car up on Friday and TOTALLY fallen in love with the car again! Car pulls like a train without any noticeable lag and doesn't hesitate to light them up when you give it some curry. I'm still getting used to the new clutch, as it's very heavy and doesn't really allow you to slip or...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Yeah, I'd say so! When it was 'charged and making 400rwkw, I think torque was about 1100N/m. From what the tuner has told me, the power delivery is brutal and is virtually lag free :D If all goes well, I should get my first drive tomorrow and the keys back then too.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

UPDATE: Got a call from the mechanic/tuner with an update and the car span 470rwkw on 10psi. Not wanting to lean on it too hard as we're running out of fuel pump. With new pump and head studs, easy 500s all day, everyday. Should get the car back Friday so will update with pics and dyno graph :)

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

I think MPW are going to video the run for me :) Yeah, I got bored with the blower pretty quickly (sounds weird saying that lol) and missed the way my turbo 33 kicked me in the ass when it hit boost. UPDATE: Car hit the rollers last Thursday to get tuned and as it came onto boost, it...

Thanks mate! Car hits the rollers today so fingers crossed she'll peel off some nice numbers and is ready for me to pick up haha

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

No updates yet, car still isn't ready but popping down there tonight to have a look. I've still got my fingers crossed the car will be ready in time for this long weekend as we're heading away so hopefully, she's all good.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Popped down to MPW last night to have a bit of gander at progress. Everything on track and looks exactly how I envisioned it, so cheers to Adam and the boys there for getting it how I want. Fingers crossed she's all done either later this week or early next week. Turbos all mounted up and good...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Not a huge amount to report on. Manual conversion done, bar a few niggly bits with the wiring loom and pedal box. Fabrication of turbo side of things under way so fingers crossed, she's all turn key and ready by next week. Exhaust manifolds fabbed up by MPW, using 4-1 collectors.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

Thanks mate, the cruise was by far the best I've been on and many said the same thing. No politics, no bullshit, just doing what my mate loved best: cruising. Hahaha well they say dreams are free. I say otherwise.

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

UPDATE: Car went into the mechanics/tuner yesterday morning to begin taking the blower off and start fabbing and installing the twin turbo setup. PLOT TWIST: Car is also getting converted from the standard auto 6-speed to a 6-speed manual at the same time as the TT. Got a few pics of the...

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

No, I purchased a new bonnet and the scoop and they moulded the scoop onto the new bonnet so it was seamless. In other words, the scoop wasn't stuck on top of the bonnet like the walky scoop was.
  39. turbodragon

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

The scoop was purchased separately and was moulded onto a steel bonnet if that's what you mean?

FATSSV - Charged, cammed, bagged and "stanced"

I got it done down here in VIC by a mob called Centro Autobody. They send the bonnet and scoop away to be moulded (can't remember the name of the guy they used, but he's supposedly very good with moulding). Moulding and curing time is about a 3-4 week turnaround, and painted and fitted was...
