    xr6 vs sv6 sidi

Scientifically derived???? From a street light drag race... no mention of how far they "gave it everything they had" or what speed thay reckon someone "won". AS has been said before - line them up at the drags, and let the slip declare the winner.

    SS Inductions vs Airhammer: CAI

diy - not a 20 minute job like they advertise on the box though. Unless you're ripping everything off and cutting up your hands to shreds... to do a thorough job, probably twice that. Sounds better with it on, although it feels like the torque curve from the "seat of the Pants" dyno has...

Who hates the VE Manual Gearbox?

I have to say that i have on occasion fried the clutch pretty good. And there are times when it doesn't want to go into 1st, i have to pop it down into 2nd then back up into 1st - odd. Otherwise i love it, much more fun and interactive to drive then the auto VZ i used to have.

    Exhaust system for SV6

are these the ones that apparently coming out in a few months? cos if so i'll hold off getting anything till they're available for the sv6 ute. everything else sounds droney/skyline-ish compared to these!

    VE Window Tint

on the subject of tints - is there a big difference in choosing a 20 (illegal) tint over the 35 (legal)? Would i have trouble seeing things at night with the darker tint? And would it be a problem with insurance, if i let them know i got my windows tinted (do i have to tell them what type of tint?)

    9C1 Commodore Wiring question

mine is a 9C1. But it had the blackout switch still in it when i bought it from the police auctions, and it works without a problem. I think its wiring thing they do in the fuse panel under the steering wheel - mine is definitely different under there.

    alloytec powerup guide

I'd also pick the lukey over the PEX system. $520 sounds alright to me. Keep in mind that i got a bit of a discount with RACQ membership of of about $30. Not a lot, but it all adds up in the end. Does that price include a tip as well? If so i'd say do it.

    alloytec powerup guide

Alrighty, direct from my invoice- here are the prices: Stainless steel tip twin D shape: $81.18 Sports front muffler VZ $180.50 Sports muffler rear VT-VY (obviously also VZ) $109.68 Clamp 2.5/8" OD/67mm (clamps the 2 parts together, was intrigued if this was normal?) $2.59 2 Gaskets for...

    alloytec powerup guide

Where abouts do you live? If it's near Brisbane at all i can recommend you somewhere that can order and install the lukey with a nice stainless tip for under $500. I think that repco are a little high with that price. There's not a lot to doing it yourself tho, you'll just have to make sure...

    alloytec powerup guide

Hmm, the best way to describe the exhaust - or the best that i could compare it to - is probably an R34 skyline. But not in a ricer way! When you hear a straight six one with a decent non cannon exhaust on them. So it's kinda like that, a bit deeper in the note, nothing like your normal...

    alloytec powerup guide

well, i now have the lukey exhaust on my car. Found a pretty good price of $500 fitted, took 25 minutes and it was done! Don't know what to make of the note yet. Had some mate's give their opinions - and the general consensus was that it doesn't sound anything like a V6 commodore. Most of us...

    Vz Satin Chrome interior

Give holden a call and get their prices and part numbers, and then compare them to what is on ebay. Sometimes you'll find that buying from holden is actually cheaper, surprisingly. There are quite a few ebayers who rely on ppl assuming that ebay is cheaper. Yes, some items are - but not all...

    alloytec powerup guide

hey impulsesv6, do you know if that lukey system is mandrel bent at all? And if it comes in stainless as well, or if it's just mild steel? I enquired with repco for pricing on the 2 parts and it comes to about $450 - does that seem reasonable, or did you get yours as part of a package when you...

    exhaust quote

Thanks for the help guys, but I'm just wondering how a 3" isn't too big if the alloytec's are losing torque with a 2.5"? And are the split systems an option, maybe in a split 2 and a quarter pipes joining at a rear muffler if large single systems don't have enough restriction for them? VT's...

    exhaust quote

That would be really good! I do most of the work on my car so that shouldn't be much of an issue if its as simple as you say. What brand(s) do you have, and do you carry extractors as well? I didn't think that Lukey were that bad, and that price did seem a little higher than last time i got...

    exhaust quote

Hi guys, just after your opinions on a quote i got for my V6 sedan. My local exhaust shop has given me a couple of options, a cat back press bend single 2.5 inch with dual mufflers for $320, or the same thing in a mandrel bend for $440, made by a company called PEX. I've never heard of them...

    Neuton tyres

Hey canopyed, when i got my new 18's put on my VZ sedan they came with Neutons. I'll be honest and say that i haven't had any problem with them, but i also haven't really tried punching the car through rapid corners and trying to test the limits of the tyre. They seem to hold quite well, they...

anyone dealt with these guys before?

I picked up a full HBD kit for my vz off them, and it was quite a good price. But just be a little wary, i was told it was going to be fully painted and delivered at a certain time. The time changed twice, and the first time i called to see what was happening the side skirts weren't coming...

    Pulled over by cops thread

police are no help See, thats part of the problem. If i have something happen, like the 3 times my car has been broken into, and i then drive straight to a police station and report it, i expect them to do something. Like have a bloody look! Not just stand there and say fill this paperwork...

    Comparing two vehicles

Well, i've just come back from doing the brisbane to snow run, and saw my fuel consumption in my new VZ executive reach as low as 6.9l/100 km. that was with 2 ppl, and heaps of snow gear, but no aircon on.

My Set Up - Is it Alright

    VZ Manual SV6 (Autospeed)
