Here Is The Way To Read Vin Plates.

here is the way to read VIN plates
for example:
6H8VXV35F1L123456 Here goes:
6H8 is World manufacturer identifier (6H8 is holden)
VX is model code
X is luxury model (K=executive,L=berlina,X=calais)
35 is body style code (69=wagon,35=wagon)
F is engine code(A=3800 V6,F=Gen 3 V8, R=3800 V6 supercharged)
1 is model year code:1=2001,2=2002 etc
L123456 is the sequential production number, also called Holden 'tag' number

Hello All,
I asked this question elswhere before I found the VIN thread. I would like to know the meaning of the 10 digit number stamped on the left front suspension turet of a VK.
Any help is appreciated, thanks Roundel

what about stuff like ss, s acclaim etc, i know they would be based on a berlina, exec etc but is there any differentiation on the VIN

PS i know it is the VIN and not build number now too

cool learn something new everyday...but yeah the dude who wrote the 'key' for the VIN might wanna clarify a few things..like 35 is body style code (69=wagon,35=wagon)...lol

hey just looked at VIN on my Rego notice...from the looks of it it looks like 19 would be sedan

VIN Number

19 is sedan up till VT then its 69
it changes again at VY to this...
