For more sensitive pedal and little performance improvement, I reckon its worth it....mines a 75mm and its very sensitive.

vt/vx tb is 65mm from memory, vn-vr are only 60mm.

im assuming youve got a vt or vx, as thats the section you posted in, so i wouldnt spend the 100 on a 3mm bigger tb unless youve already got extractors, cat back exhaust etc.

Go for it!!

One may assume that 3mm is nothing, but if you consider that this is a measurement in diameter, then the increase in volume is considerable.
Surface of a circle ie: area of the pipe/throttle body can be seen as this:
65mm= 331.83mm.(approx)
68mm= 363.16mm.(approx)
This is using the formula Pi(3.14159) x r (radius of circle) squared.
This means that a 68mm TB has 8.63% more area than a 65mm TB, therefore it flows 8.63% more air than the 65mm TB.
I have a 69mm in mine and: 1) It's more responsive
2) It uses more fuel. 3) Shifts are smoother(Don't ask me but they are)
$100 is dirt cheap for a good one and I would *grab it *put it in and *experience the difference. If you don't like it, change it back and sell it to someone else.
Hope this helps, cheers Max.:bang:

Yep gear shifts are heaps smooth, and YES it uses more fuel.

hey sounds interesting guys.
i have a vt right how would i go about getting my tb to be 68/69mm in size would i go and get it bored out and how would it cost?, or buy an after market? how much would they be?. Also how much more fuel does it use?, but the more fuel usage normaly comes with the nature of the horse power gain.
is it true that u can put a v8 tb on the v6?

cheers.

Mine was a bored out 75mm VR V8 TB, straight bolt on. You can change also the IAC and Throttle Position sensor, as the V8's ones were faulty, I put my original sensors off my 60mm TB and all sweet. Suggest you get new gaskets aswell.

But I have heard the VS-VY, the V8 Body doesnt bolt on to the V6 engine, so double check.

just clean your tb first.. ull notice a smooth and responsive gain.. then decide as the upgrade would be like doing the same again..
