You let me know, how you get on? I have heard different opinions about him from others who drive an LS and a mech who sourced a valve spring from him and fitted it for me when I broke one.

Might be ok, since you're running stock cam I believe. But I won't go there and potentially waste $1000 on a tune and have it still pig root unless you fan the clutch or keep the revs up to it, while trying to get through Riverside, where it goes one lane at 5.30pm..

I just had my gearbox rebuilt, lifters replaced and a whole bunch of other things done from Gary Thorpe, LS specialist, and honestly couldn't fault him, I would take my car back to him time after time again.
haha I live along west tamar highway riverside, I know what you're on about haha

I don't obviously have a high stall, so I thought a cam would be my best bet. but I found a gm motorsport cam that doesn't need a high stall, just wasn't sure if it would really be worth it ..

Mine is a manual, auto would be way easier to drive, but I'd go stall, having had one before. I've been using Ron's a little and will be going back. His head mech knows the LS very well, as does Ron. I don't reckon they tune though. Mine has been dyno tuned but I need a tune with manners, not maximum HP. When I've asked around I've only heard bad reports and I have asked mechanics and no one so far has been able to tell me for certain a place that can get it right and $1000 is a big gamble if it comes back no better, with the notes on the invoice saying, "yeah mate ,needs diff gears, nothing we can do, but I'll still take that $1k in your wallet before I'll release your nice V8".....

Any dyno tuner can get extract max HP from a cammed LS, but it's when you need to sit on 1000-2000 revs without cam hopping or having to feather the clutch that separates those who know their **** and those who really know their ****,,,,, and so far I am yet to find anyone who can offer the latter.... If you get good results let us Tas members know, but unless I see some solid evidence I won't take the gamble....

Jane do your research on DC for tuning before you go there. I have found out more poor reports on his work. I have found a bloke who can apparently do a good job and he was recommended by an auto electrician and a garage I have used a few times. I will be seeing him for mine. He sounded like he knew what to do and the problems he sees with a lot of interstate tunes. I'm seeing him in a few months when I can save up the $1000 needed to have it done.
Just remember that there are plenty of good LS mechanics who can spin the spanners but tuning with power and manners takes a different set of skills that few possess. DC might be fine and I know he has the name LS Guru, but ask around like I have before you decide is all I suggest.
