Hello there, just bought a sv6 today it ran good as gold drove through a drive through then my radiator started to leak which looks like the hose on the top which goes to engine but couldn't really see, so took the cover off to try and get a better look then the clip on the airflow thing not sure what it's called the one connected to air filter, then tried to start it but forgot that the thing was still disconnected now says very low fuel, fuel gauge error contact dear and svs anyone know what it could do to get it going again.

The Mass Airflow Sensor is what you left off. That will generate a code and the car would run poorly.

Option 1. Get the code cleared by a mechanic

Option 2. Get a blue tooth obd2 to plug in. Heaps on eBay. Download “Dash command” from google play or from App Store (for apple)

DashCommand - OBD-II Gauges by Auto Meter Products, Inc.
https://apps.apple.com/au/app/dashcommand-obd-ii-gauges/id321293183

Find the code to be sure that’s your problem. You will be able to clear the code as well.

When you disconnect sensors etc, you really should have the negative terminal disconnected. At the very least, don’t have the radio on while you do it. Switch the car off, but that’s not ideal.

Really bad (but good because no cost) option 3.
Try disconnect the battery overnight or for the day. Switch the lights on, beep the horn or similar for some shitty attempt at bleeding off some residual power once it’s all disconnected. Reconnect. See if things are ok. Won’t cost anything.

The fuel gauge is operated by the BCM (body control module) under the dash by the steering column. This can be a symptom of a faulty BCM.
