08 VE SS Ex-Chaser with no sub amplifier

Hi guys, came on here for some badly needed help.

I have an 08 VE SS S1 and for the life of me I can't find the amp for the subs (to do the improve your sound system trick).

I took the boot interior out and cannot locate the amp (check YouTube for location videos).

Do the cops take them out for some reason? Can I purchase one to replace it?

Any help is appreciated.

PS the tuning scroller on my steering wheel also doesn't work, I'm guessing its a cop thing too.

Space is tight in utes, depending on what NSW Police were using at the time they could have removed it to fit radio gear in there.

I have the sales brochure.
The little table confirms the ss-v is the 11 speaker option.
Omega 6 speaker. Sv6 and SS are 7.

I have a 12 inch sub in a box with an amp, can it be connected to the stock system? If it can, how much would it set me back?

need to use a converter to drop speaker level signal to line level. or an amp that can cope.

power is easy, there is a single signal power wire to switch amp on top left hand corner of boot.
(brown in colour?)
grab feed power from battery, and replace the factory speakers while going this far.
