09 SV6 Check Engine & ad hoc splatter

Hi Guys,

Just picked up an 09 SV6 sedan on Friday night. All was fine and car running great until this morning when I was off to check the tyre pressure, check engine light popped on and car started to lose some power and started splattering a bit.

I took it out again during the day, light still on but car was smooth as new, tonight I took it around the block to test again and was lucky to make it back.

Just confused, the car was empty yesterday when I took it out, and I threw $50.00 of E10 in which may have been a mistake. Could this be the issue?

Oil was a little low when I got the car, so I filled it today but can't imagine that could cause the sudden lose in power etc.

I did see a few other links with similar questions, but my symptoms seem a little different.

For anyone's future issues similar, two coil packs have died. Ran diagnostics check on computer and faults came up.

$90 for each pack replacement.

The Alloytec doesnt have coil packs. It has 6 individual ignition coils over the spark plug.

They are extremely common to go as water tends to get in them and corrode.

WHere did you get them from, that sounds incredibly expensive.
