So while we wait, 2 questions...
1. Still use 20/50 weight oil ?
2. Will the "Wade cam 992a" work well with these rockers ( buick cam ?) with no modifications ?
cam specs 992a ? lobe lift - Ex .295 In .295
Timing Ad Open Close - 69-27 25-71
Duration @.050 - 214 214
Valve Lift - .472 .472
Lobe Sep - 112
Or a better suggestion ?
just looking a good daily cam without losing durability.

Oh crap...looking closer at Immortality's post (Page 1) that "Wade cam" equates to 560.5 lift. Even Wade's 1250 profile at 281 lobe lift comes to 534. HELP...

Cheers, Daza.

That' a good cam for what you're after.

With our 1.9:1 ratio rockers though it would be a bit much. In saying this though a 1.7:1 rocker with that cam would work well (of which we can supply). If they can grind those specs with the exception of around .500" lift that the valve it would be ideal.

Cheers

with a decent set of springs what is the maximum safe amount of valve lift for the buick?

stock heads .520" lift
stock heads using MACE supplied Mahle spring retainers which give a extra .030 clearance - .550" lift
stock heads using MACE supplied retainers and new low profile (-.020") valve stem seal .570" lift

if you want more then .570 lift then you really need to have the top of the valve guide machined down to gain more clearance between the valve stem seal and the spring retainer. and obviously appropriate springs to suit

Good news is that the part we can't make has arrived on a plane :) The only catch is that we're very low on finished LS1 rockers, however I'm hoping to have a couple of sets sorted by sometime next week.

As for the specs of the valve springs that we'd recommend (excluding VN S1) they're shown below

1.7" installed

100lb seat

295lb open .500"

spring rate 400lb per inch

550" max lift recommend at an installed height of 1.7"

1.01" compressed height.

Things are moving, however we've just go a fair amount on our plate at the moment.

Cheers
Steve :)

So what springs do you recommend for VN S1?
