    Hey all!
Im new to this page, first post from me!

    Need some advice....

Just replaced the z bar front castor bushes on my VT and while doing up one of the four nuts to fasten the castor bush plate to the cross member the threaded bolt snapped off!!!!

Do these bolts hammer out backwards from the cross member like a wheel nut bolt would out of a disc brake rotor or are they fixed in??
I called Holden spare parts and the guy told me the 8 bolts are a part of the cross member and not removable!!??

Any advice you could give me guys?
Going interstate for Xmas, been doing alot of work on the car to get her back on the road and now this!!

    HELP!!

    Cheers Guys!

Um isnt too bad if you are handy.

Those nuts are only 20-26nm torque whilst the tension rod hydraulic damper(castor bush) is 140-155nm
You did use the right torque settings???
And if you dont have a torque wrench, get one.

    As for repairing
    Handy again

Punch it out, drill it out
Its spot welded to the inside, needs removing then can use a thread and bolt of choice.

Yer i did tighten it with a torque wrench to that setting, thats why i dont understand why it broke, unless it was fatigued from past over tightening say with a rattle gun!!
trouble is too it the lower inside one which is very hard to get to from the inside!

Yeh not exactly an easy job at all.

Basically needs to have a new bolt installed.

I personally wouldn't drive long without it and try to get it fixed.

I don't have any easy ideas other then what's mentioned.

Wish you all the best though

Instead of jumping onto a rattle gun being the issue, double check you did them up at the N/M setting, NOT the FT/LB setting....FT/LB is a tighter setting than N/M

I did all that so i have no idea!
The rattle gun issue is relating to back awhile to when a mechanic did work on my front end! Some swear by their rattle guns and nothing else... ive seen it with my own eyes!
