I bought this car 3 weeks ago from a bloke in cronulla. The story i was told by him was he was too scared to take the car anywhere as it was his first brand new car so he never drove the thing. Almost 2 and a half years old and it only had 8000k's on it. It is completly standard with the plan being to only do a few cheap performance mods on it, better looking set of mags, a bit lower and a couple of little things to personalise it slightly. Day 3 saw stainless extractors and 2.5 inch stainless system. Was a bit dissapointed but still nice when the foots down. And the engine light on.... A week on from buying it I got assulted at my car.... long story. Result: Passenger door over extends by 5 inches, Crease in bonnet just above lion badge, damaged side skirt on passenger side and a couple of scratches here and there. Nothing real noticeable unless your looking.
Nice ute when are you getting it tuned? Sounds like my old man his 08 ssv ute has only done 9000klms.
Far out. Have you hit up the previous owner? Did a check on the car before you bought it? Overall nice ute mate, love white.
It had nothing to do with previous owner. Whats a hp check? And tune is tomorrow at marranos enhancement division at croydon NSW. KEEN!!
Since the last post a few other mods have been done :smoking: First were the lights, after loooking at the price of the drl lights and how common they are i decided to go with the halos. Idea came from SLY_6.. i think it is. LOVE them! Before getting them installed i thought i would put in a set of HID's but when the normal lights are on with the halos it makes it look the same coulour which was all i was after with the HID's, got out of spending more money on lights. Then it went into the smash repairers to get the dents and door fixed aswel as the walky bonnet. Came out looking perfect. Next was rims, tyres and suspension. I wanted something a little differnet without looking stupid. Went for the 4x4 KMC XD rims. They were machined out to suit the offset for the commy and drilled to suit. Looking around i found that I wanted SSL springs in the front and SSSL in the rear. It came up alright, was thinking a little lower in the rear would be nice, but they've only been in for 4 hours. Next up... Installing the rip shift and then sound system, was thinking Alpine type r splits in the doors running off JL audio JX360/2 and the 2 kicker subs from the sedan i had. Let me know what you think :beer chug:
the halo's look awesome mate, did you install them yourself or get someones to put them in? did you get them from that mob in the states or can you get them here?
Awesome choice of wheels, love the angel eyes but they're in upside down. The gap in the light should be at the top, not bottom if that makes sense.
good stuff mate, its definitly coming along nicely!! id personally take off those massive center caps, it will look way better.
Thanks guys. got the lights from aac style in America. They were installed at a place near mine. i do realise there in upside down. Just adds to being a little different. When i took the centres off its hideous. much better with them on.
I previously had a ssv sedan before this and it had 2 12" kicker subs in it that i thought went very well, so i decided to fit them to the ute, and while I was at, it install a set of splits. So the audio now consists of AlpIne SPR-17S Splits running off an Alpine MRP-F300 amp and the 2 12 inch kicker comp subs running off a ZX300.1 amp. Sounds fantastic in the ute. Took me a little while longer than planned to build the boxes and install everything but im pretty happy with how it tuned out. I also transfered the plates from the previous car, looks much better now. Thought id just post up a pic of the fantastic fuel economy sitting in traffic haha
