On previous models Vt, VX, VY, I have taken 12volts for my caravan fridge and power etc. direct from the battery positive terminal through a decent size fuse.
I am an electrician so I dont have any problems doing the work, however with all the changes in the VE I hesitate to this but it still seems the best way to do it in regards to voltage drop etc.
Has anyone out there done this work as yet?
If so any dramas doing it that way?
    Thanks for any help.
    Keith.

i dont think you should worry to much, if its connected while the engine is running the alternator will adjust itself accordinly to keep voltage and amps consistant

There's a 12volt optional accesory socket for the boot. It's a $30 dealer fitted option.

if he's got a decent setup in his caravan that wont do it + accessory power for a trailer/caravan dont use cigarette liter sockets

usually they use 12 pin trailer plugs (i think its 12) or a positive and negative sliding contact plug/socket sort of thing

    Job Done!

I wired the Aux. supply straight off the battery positive terminal with a 30 amp auto reset circuit breaker, tested it on load, no problems came up.

At the same time I wired the electric brakes in and tested OK, I also used a 30 amp breaker on these no dramas and tested OK.

The reason for the hesitation in the first place was I could not find much on the forum about it and got some obviously bad info. around the traps that the BCM may not like it and give out weird messages etc. However all appears OK which is what I would have expected.

    Thanks for the replies.
    Keith.
