I am installing an overhead dvd player in my vz...
just wondering where the best place is to hook up 12V acc power... ?
i was thinking maybe the light console... but then i realised they will only be constant power wires... any thought on this?

You could either take the H/U out and tap of that acc there, or run your own from the fusebox or if ciggy lighter runs of acc? Just make sure its fused.

i would find the + wire going to the cig lighter and join into that then run it up into where you need the power.you will then only have power when the key is in the accessories or on positions.

Well, You have to get behind it first, this requires taking whatever screws etc are holding it there. It should come away just enough for you too see behind, find a wire which on the front of the board runs off acc and take it before it's fused providing the dvd player is fused . Then you can use either scotch locks or strip the wire back and solder it.

Check too see if the ciggy lighter power comes from acc first, if it does just take it from there, it would be much easier.

If you are not competant doing this i would suggest taking it to an auto electrician to wire it up 4 you.
