yeah i was just saying that when the supra floored it (video taken from other car), it covered another 300-400 metres in like 3-4 seconds from approx 80-100kph.
seen it before, i would have thought impossible but the way it launches the front wheels mid-track is nuts, wonder what compression ratio its runnin to handle that muxh boost?
something goddamn low lol...he must only boost that much on very very rare occasions...I cant see the engine enjoying it much... They did a thing on top gear with a Evo VIII Lancer, on like a 2.8mile runway against some crappy malaysian 1.6 litre thing with no power...flooring it in top gear from 50km/h and the Lancer got beat pretty easy...by the time it hit boost it was too late lol so i cannot imagine the turbo lag on that Supra
There is no way they were doing 100 km/h more like 60, they arent moving that quick, as for getting over 400m in 3 seconds, he looks maybe 200-250 metres away max. The car itself only runs a 10.12 quarter, not that impressive really. Especially if it has 1500hp.
needs some nos j/k apasing how much boost they got in that think, would hate to blow a gasket, might throw a piston in the process though to get it to 59psi i would say they took the proper steps to strengthen everything in it for reliability purposes
lyk wat was said b4 just cos u have 1500hp+ doesnt mean u can utalise it all on the track e.g. if he cant go full throttle cos it will break traction cos its not lyk he has 15inch wide mm/t on it. and about the boost bit alot of the door slammers are making between 50psi and 70psi with blowers and producing 3000hp+ so i cant see y this supra cant make 59psi. just my 2c
i agree, the vl turbos that run at calder as in pannic or JPC at max run at like 45psi...i dont know why you would bother puttin 1500hp into a jap car, but anyway....:dance:
when u make 3000HP the supercharger makes a larger amount of that than the acual engine does, so therefore the superchargers on doorslamers have to make that much pressure to make the power, in the supra the turbo has to do the same thing make more of the power, the enigne of a supra N/A could make 500hp, so u only need a 1000hp turbo charger, u can get garret GT66 turbos that run on about 40 pound that are rated at 1000hp, all im sayin is 59psi sounds a bit much.
i've seen in a zoom mag a vw golf run 948kw on 48psi out of an audi v5 engine so i can believe one of the best motors ever designed and built (supra 2j) being able to make 1500hp even if that car doesn't have it
the RB engine found in VL's is a jap angine dude. Supra engines, amongst the lexus 4.0 v8 engine, is one of the strongest production engines in the world. I am yet to find u guys the info but i have on dvd an outlaw class supra drag car in Japan putting out 2,000 horses using the toyota soarer (lexus) v8 bottom end and quad turbonetics t51 turbos. Insane, but runs good consistent 6 sec passes without probs.
