Surprised NZP would use nitrogen based on cost and availability and probably minimal benefits for most of the fleet usage.

All tyre shops have nitrogen fill , since when do government departments worry about cost , as for benefits , meh , depends .

Both my VX and VU run 18" wheels with tyres pumped to 38PSI cold. Never had any issues and the tyres wear evening. Next time I get new tyres I might go nitrogen for those long hot trips.
