I'm sure you could add Simmons to the list of a wheel provider that does or can make rims to suit your specs.

Based on some research found some rims that would fit Brembo brakes - Not sure about Enkei , but the rest of the wheels should fit Brembo's and even possibly AP Racing.

Yes, considering this option too, I believe Weld do one as well, although a bit pricey

In the Mickey Thompson range of Radials there is a larger 18" range than there is 17" While 17" would have 1/2" more sidewall, would they end up being a heavier combination? Is a bit more tread width more important seeing as though the sidewalls are stiff anyway and you're not getting the footprint of a bias ply slick?

Yes 17" clears mate, glad you like the thread, sort of the opposite to big rims and rubber bands but for performance and comfort I'm definitely gonna do something.
Haven't looked into group buy as in gathered all options as a first step just busy ATM.

Simmons are expensive. Was quoted $1,000 per 18" rim yesterday in 3-piece as the 1-pice rims wont fit according to them. would also only do 18x9.5 as well, not 18x10. must be limited to their rims sections or something?

I'm sure you could add Simmons to the list of a wheel provider that does or can make rims to suit your specs.

For what it is worth, I spoke to Harrop today and the Forgelines on their VF project car are $1,430.00 USD each, so around $1,930 for the pair before shipping and duties! Wow!

That's not such a bad price when you look at comparable made in the USA brands, my HRE's cost me $2,750 each delivered to my door.

I don't know mate, My 15 x 16 American racing rims that I use on the GXP and that are SFI certified are only $500 ea, weigh less than half of a street wheel and can handle up to 2000hp going through them! Manufacturing volumes would also be less than a street based wheel.

A Beadlock 16" Drag rim is cheaper with billet anodised beadlocks! :)

I’m just making a comment on the price of Forgelines being compatible to other similar placed brands.

I agree price doesn’t necessarily equate to better.

Going to enquire about the Weld RTS S71, in a 17x9 or 10 for the rear & a 17 or even an 18 in something narrow as a front runner
