Have a bit of an issue here with tyre scrubbing on the strut on the fronts, Was just wondering if anyone has had issues with 19" wheels on their VT, was running 245/35/19 on the fronts and was just wondering if that width was too wide for the fronts as they sit perfectly fine on the rears. Thanks for the help.

there's a few factors to consider with this, such as the offset etc not just the size.

if they scrub, then obviously they are not designed for your setup.

Yeah I know there is a few things that can contribute, such as camber, offset, rah rah, Just trying to cross off some ideas of what it could be.

They are just to big. To much of an increase in rolling diameter + wrong offset/to wide.

edit: an 245/35/19 is approx 11mm taller (rolling diameter) +/- than a 235/45/17.

What offset do you have? I'd say that's the problem

+40 I'm fairly sure. Just dads old rims, as he's selling his car, if I can take them off it I'll take them, If not they will be sold with the car, so not much of a loss in all honesty. Just thought I'd ask to see. Whats the general max offset for wheels, Just would be curious to know aswell, for all 19" wheels, could you fit 9" wide wheels front and rear, or is that too wide? Thanks

9's would prob fit the rear, but would be too big for the front I think

Fitting some 235/40/19's would probably fix the problem.

Uh... I don't think so, 40 is increasing the sidewall size... Wouldn't want it scrubbing the top of the strut too... Would increase the rolling diameter by a fair bit..

Some tyres also have some kind of 'XL' size, like thicker side walls or gutter guards or something which can cause problems. Some brands just have this anyway. Varies from tyre to tyre.
