Vr commodore manual
I got a vsiii motor in my vr with the VM prefix but no sign of it being a 195i, I have put in a non original chip in because of vats. Is it worth getting a 195i tune on a normal 5L? Is there meant to be any supporting mods or is it only a tune?

roller cam,smidgen higher compression with sequential injection & maf...195i had slightly better airbox or snorkel & steel headers to go with 195i tune.

Was it better to stock vt 304...little bit better but for the extra money it cost really didn't set the world on fire however they did have much nicer manners down low due to roller cam & sequential injection.

Are you running complete vs s3 ecu or vt ecu setup as in sequential injection,maf set up? Bolt on mods?

If it's to get it running with vs s3 or vt ecu getting vats off is fine....if you're running roller cam engine but with vr or vs ecu etc that is map based hen yeah I'd prefer memcal tune to suit what is in there.

Ride says vr commodore yet engine roller cam s3 or vt...so what ecu/loom & transmission combination mates it all together?

Hey man it was from a 99 vs ute, everything is in and car drives good, its running the vs/vt ecu and loom (peice of piss to wire up) it has got a very mild cam in it, just hoping getting a 195i and 98 tune would give me that extra sauce before I buy pacemakers. Also to mention, it has the cold air intake that goes over the radiator

Memcal tune for 98 won't make big difference you're hoping for really need to do it all at once if you want to notice decent jump in performance.

Extractors/cats/exhaust then diff gears & tune...better airbox

Had 195i/getrag/3.9 gears with memcal tune hsv headers & exhaust etc all jammed into lighter lc gtr.

What are the signs it is I have a 99 Ute with VM prefix it has the cover but have been told it’s not because of the prefix is wrong what are the other signs with out pulling it down
