Hey guys putting up my 1986 VL Wagon (Berlina). I just recently got this by swapping my VR Acclaim (with blown gearbox). I absolutely love driving this thing! It's such a great daily.

Alright, it's been a while since I posted in this thread seen as she's been my daily. But in a sad turn of events, well not really haha, seems daily car has become project car and project car stays project car hahaha. Here's the rundown: The poor old girl's motor is about to give up life, so I thought, if im changing the engine over may aswell go all out. So far I've picked up a low KM series 2 donk, a really nice turbo kit (manifold and turbo, dump, injectors and fuel rail, AVO Intercooler kit, 3TA ecu and dose pipe). Im in the process of stripping down and degreasing the motor and painting it, also going to put a metal head gasket and ARP head studs on it aswell as timing kit and all other essentials. I sent the Intercooler Piping, a spare Rocker cover and Timing cover away for powdercoating last week and hope to get them back this week. Also on the weekend after running a minispool for 6 months the inevitable happened, snapped axle :( so I was luckily enough to snap up a reco'd wagon diff for $150 :D and slapped that in. It also has a minispool in it :/ and is also a 25 spline diff but has 3.08 ratio? But with no backlash and magnificent preload im not complaining haha So here's some happy snaps of the last month and diff change from yesterday:

Been absolutely flat out this weekend on this conversion. Pulled the head and sump off on friday night to find out she's got 50 thou oversize pistons :D Took some parts into my mates workshop and put them in the parts washer and they turned out great. And on Saturday all the painting started.. Block, Sump, and other bolt on's I cleaned up and painted. Spent alot of money and consumed alot of alcohol haha new water pump.. thermostat.. sump gasket.. idle pulley.. belts.. crank angle sensor.. etc etc. And on Sunday bolted the sump back up and did a quick dummy fit of the motor :) So next week hopefully the head will be bolted back on with a metal head gasket and arp head studs aswell as a new timing kit. Here's some pics:
