Hey guys thought id post up a build of a wagon im going to restore and make something off its a 1989 VN White Wagon

some history on the car

it was my Best mate's car witch was living in WA Witch has Passed away about 2 Years ago

so i inherited the car
i had some issues with getting the car back from WA witch has finally been sorted as no one would take the car as it did not drive....

as when my mate passed away not long after that someone took the car for a joy ride and had done some damage to it witch i will post up

the car is on its way back to melb as we speak so ill post up pics when i get the car back into my hands

my 1st port of call is to get the car driveing on its own again witch i think its just a clutch.. but will know when the cars back

then ill fix up the car to get it back to roadworthy..

then the real mods will start...

his is what the wagon looked like just before CJ passed

You definitely have your work cut out for you on this one, very rough (but hey what VN's aren't these days)

Looking forward to seeing what you do to it

alot more work in it then i thought but it will be done

the tail gate is stuffed so it will be replaced

been woking on her over the last cupple of days this is what we have done

we sused out that drivers front wheel as it was sitting far to back apon looking we found that the lower contol arm is bent and the cut spring has fallen out

so iv got to get the bits needed to fix that up

we started to sus out why the car did not drive... apon looking we found that the clutch is had it so we pulled the gearbox out of the car

we pressha washed it and changed the rear seal on the box

wile we had the box out we atacked the under side of the car (front harf) pressha washed that wire brushed and then painted the under side in black rust convert (and did the wheels arches)

got a new lower control arm for the drivers side and removed the old one

going to have the bushes swaped out

heres a pic of the arms new one vs old one the old one i have my foot on

just a update on this car i brought a VS parts car (ex cop car) with this bad boy in it and T5 manual v8 box ... needs a bit of work on the bottom end but once the car is ready it will be dropped in

pulling the motor k frame and everything i can use or sell off to fund the car project

i also took the 2 front doors from the parts car that had good door on it...and put them on the wagon... (back doors are different)... so now on the hunt for back passenger door and a tail gate once i have them ill update this on the hard task of preping the rust in the roof and all that good stuff

been doing a little more sussed out some bits i now have all the panels to start stripping the car down and fixing the body

i also got a VN SS Group a Bonnet

i got the boot carpet

new tail lights as the ones on the wagon are damaged

when i brought the parts car it came with a set of Vt GTS rims witch i think will look awesome on the wagon so im going to fit them on it when its done

Now im upto date with this sorry if it did not make sense

that windscreen rust is standard, especially if the car dosent have the original screen in it. the refitters dont bother sealing up the drag knife scratches before the new screen goes in and and rust is what you get.... i bet the screen wasent even attached at the bottom section, just urethane on a bed of rust. the last one i pulled out i only had to drag knife half of it...

looking good man, you sticking with the original white?

I also Really like the white, once it has had a really good buff so that it looks pristine.

I am keen to see where this build gets to. Good on ya
