Hi there would like to know 1 if the factory 1999 VT commodore 3.8L v6 differential is an LSD or open diff?, Also if I could upgrade her and out an V8 LSD diff for a bit more action but still road legal driveable, cheers

... or what options the buyer ticked.

I doubt it's LSD but easiest way to tell is to do a quick skid and see if it leaves twin stripes. Alternately, jack up one rear wheel and see if it turns freely, if it does, no LSD (or totally rooted LSD), if it doesn't turn. LSD.

Yes you can fit a V8 diff with LSD but it's a complete diff swap, not just internals.
