1996 Supercharged Vs Wagon HELP!!!

Was coming back from town the other day car was running as usual nothing different "had been driving it most of that day" when out of no were I lost all power, the engine light flickered on and off the rpm guage went stupid and had lost all power, I switched ignition off and on again light was still there wouldn't start up so I pulled off to the side of the road and that's were it stayed for 4 hours, tried switching up and checking fuses, nothing made a difference. Turns over fine but will not fire!
Got the car home emptied tank put new fuel pump in still no difference, any ideas?
Checked the ecu and tried switching still no difference, I have checked and I have spark and fuel supply in rails
just not sure why it's not firing
