I have seen a vn with a toyota 1gze blower. I have found out I can pick one up for $400. Does anybody know what other modifications will be needed? Besides the obvious of getting it to fit and doing the chip. It would only run about 4 psi.

Get in the ute
it will run fine with a bit of a tune and just bolted on to the side of the motor and being driven by the belt.... of course, the more you modify the more you will get out of the setup...

you should look into at least a decent sized exhaust and some headers

then when you get bored, up the boost, retune, sort out enough fuel....

then when you get bored again, up the boost some more, retune, sort out some form of cooling :p

Thanks guys. The only reason i want it is because you can apparently connect a blow off valve to it and i just want that cool sound the cheapest way. Also the extra bit of power wouldn't go unwanted. There is also the point i can lift the hood and tell people it's supercharged! So all i would need is a retune, new belt and the blower just to get it running?

Have a look at the Castlemaine Rod Shop kit at:
http://www.rodshop.com.au/superchargerholdv6.htm
It's $2000 which may seem expensive but it is a straight bolt up kit so unless you're equiped and able to fabricate the brackets etc. it may actually work out cheaper.
But if all you really want is that horrible wanky psssh then check out :-

these two sites from my post above
http://www.takakaira.com/accessories...ightpager.html
or
http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2188/article.html
are for 'electronic blow off valves'
All they do is make the noise. I think this is the kind of crap item you saw on ebay.
P.S. as the motor is a V you may need to fit two of these to get the full performance benefit.

yeh i agree they are crap. but these ones bolted onto the inside of the muffler. somethin to do with pressure build up. personally i wouldnt bother tryin to get the pwsssh sound. much prefer rumblin
