Hi guys, i have a VX SS and found a spare air box so thinking i would use it to make a 2 hole mod air box.
Where do i put the hole and what size hole saw to use?
Read you use a bit of PVC pipe with elbow, what size and how long?

Here is a pic of what i got..... top, bottom and a spare hose

Anyone got some pics of there one for reference?

vt ss & lc gtr
Basically copying vt lower air box for location of pipe then trial & error to make it fit your car.

Mine was bit of a vulture job done quickly as didn't think would make much difference...was happily surprised for a freebie mod.on stock m6 vy sv8.

Ofcourse doing otr/tune/exhaust etc later on will leave it for dead.

I found my modified oem airbox had cooler IAT than the OTR that was on it

IAT testing I've done:

1. K&N Pod - rubbish, basically sucks hot engine bay air as expected(only did it when I was in between pulling the OEM to fit the Mace)

2. VCM OTR - had high IAT unless you were doing over 60 kph, sucked alot of air from the front of the radiator at lower speeds, car felt doughy in traffic due to high IAT

Mace - lower temps than OTR, but higher than modified airbox (looked cheap and didn't suit the engine bay)

Modified OEM with K&N - as above, I cut the front face out like the 2 hole mod with was fine for the NA power

I then cut the guard side out for some more noise, IAT stayed the same

It gets feed from large openings behind the headlight

If your not logging IAT or restrictions your just spending money for shiny things

I use a ScanGauge 2 to log temps
