I was going to go 255/35 front 285/30 rear cause didnt wanna go 275 untill koya told me to put 295/30

Maybe should jusy run 275/35 an be done with it

This is my 295/30 on a 10 inch rim with a +50 offset and a 255 on an 8.5 inch rim at the front.

That 255 at the front looks pretty narrow in this shot but that’s the camera playing tricks.

This combo worked a treat as far as no rubbing regardless of how much weight I threw in the back.

I tried to find some side on photos but I don’t have them with me at the moment but what you can’t see is the relationship between the tyre walls from front to rear and the rear.

The rear always looked like I should have gone for a 295/25.

When the rears needed replacing I took the cheaper option of a 285/30 and the car looked more in proportion.

Hmmm maybe but im more worried about keeping rim protected. But also would rather keep speedo close

The speedo can be easily calibrated by a tuner.

What size tyre are you intending to run on the front with those

Your 255/55 must be a typo and my 285/35 was definitely a typo as it should have read 285/30.

You'd go no more than a 35 profile ratio on a 255 with a 20 inch rim, that is a 255/35R20 for the front.

This is a couple of side on views with 285/30R20 on the rear and 255/35R20 on the front.

As you can see the tyre walls are in proportion.

When you fit a 295/30 on the rear the tyre wall looks out of proportion with the front in my opinion and I do stress that just my opinion as there would be people that like the taller look.

+42 offset on a 10.5 inch. is nearly identical backspacing to the stock HSV +57 9.5 inch and so is +36 with 11 inch rim.

285 tyre will fit 9.5 to 11 inch rim. 295 really needs 10 -10.5 inch rim min.

Yeah they did it to HSV specs csuse told them im eventually going to either put brembos or harrop brakes on it.

I was more worried about scrubbing heaps with 295 but i checked a hsv forum last night an they reakon can fit 295s without much issue.

Koyas saying to do 295 cause didnt want to do 275 an have rim poking out on a stretched tyre

hmm i asked koya bout 285/30 they said would be to small to factory 275/35 (HSV) so they either say 275/35 or 295/30... height atm but coilovers View attachment 192601

at that height, i reckon you're going to rub with 295's. it will need the bumper bracket trimmed.

mine was probably a bit lower, and with 275/35's on 20x11 +43, and it rubbed on the bumper bracket even after being trimmed.

Bumper bracket has already been sorted when guards were rolled..

How did rim sit with 275/35?

These are probably the best photos I have. A 285/30 would have been better, but the edge of the tyre lip and rim were about even. It will depend on tyre brand too... I had 255's on a 10" rim and they appeared more stretched than 275' on an 11".

Also added a pic of how low mine was for comparison.
