hello everyone,
as the title says I have a 2000 VT sedan with 157xxx kms which has a knocking sound coming from the rear, have checked other threads and found no solution, the knocking sounds like when you're driving at 10kph then you slam the gear stick into park, it makes those noises.
notes about the car:
3 months ago there was a metal on metal rubbing sound coming from the front left wheel but grandfather put some grease somewhere and it stopped.
3 weeks ago put MACE 25mm manifold spacer on
4 weeks ago fitted 2.5inch redback catback exhaust without rear resonator
5 weeks ago put stockies on the back for cheap alternative to camber kit
have not done any maintenance because only travelled under 5000km since buying the car

any ideas anyone?

Hmmm. Maybe your new exhaust has come of the hangers and is banging on something?

its not the exhaust, have already checked that.
at 5kph it starts as a dull thud every 6 seconds then as you are accelerating up to 90kph it increases to around 10 knocks per 2 seconds

Obviously something rotational based upon your timing, I would say tyres.

Is it consistent timing?

It does sound rotational as Tas has suggested.
Are you absolutely sure your tyres are ok?
Jack up each corner and have a good look at the inside walls for any bulges or evidence of tread delamination,
as this can be hard to see from the outside.
If this keeps happening, I have a feeling that something is gunna go bang.

the outer walls are kind of bald but the inner walls still have the rubber nipples lol

If they are bald and worn down on the outside, the tyre/s could be stating to delaminate. In other words, the tread is coming away from the carcass of the tyre.
I'd be getting new tyres as soon as possible, not only because of bald tyres, but also if the tyre/s delaminate while driving, especially at high speed, it could be catastrophic, not only for you, but the person driving behind will get a face full of rubber.

I put the stockies on the back because my 17's were camber worn badly, upon checking the tyres closely there's only the rear right that has a bald wall. I doubt bald walls could cause knocking but I have been wrong before

Trouble is, you may not be able to see the delamination.
But at high speed with the centrifugal force, it could be happening within the tyre.
This will cause the sound you described.

Anyway, it's up to you. I'm just suggesting a possibility to your problem.
Wont hurt to get them checked.
Better safe than sorry.
