3 coats,,,, being autobarn paint it isn't really the same as the car, but close enough for my liking also got about 3 coats of clear, which i think is when most of the crap (a few insignificant specks) got onto it however the bit around the actual dash (guages) only got 1 coat to help keep the reflections onto the dash down a bit
yeah i thought it'll just help to protect it,,, have a look at the part just below the mode switch in the pic coming through the drivers side door,,,, , just a tad shiny hahaha
cheers mate,,, it's not perfect, but it's better than standard,, changes the look of the car for something so cheap
well now starts a long road of time of work,,,,,,(agian) any ideas for cheap jobs that'll look good would be welcomed with open arms as i don't wanna get to lazy and just sit around doing nothing,, was thinking paint the engine cover (colour coded, but leave the black accents that are standard, buy another vt bonnet badge except paint it gloss black) and yeah thats all i got,,,,,,,thats not even a day's worth of work
how hard is it to pull the lights apart?, do they need a new gasket of some sort between lense and body? also don't i have to take the front bumper off to get them out?
just finished another thing for the ute,,,gotta wait till tommorow for pics though,,, unfortunately will only be after pics, as i keep forgetting to do before and during ones still haven't decided on a sticker for the rear window,,, just want something simple, and understated, like a small emblem, word or two or a picture, but don't want it to big any suggestions appreciated
yeah was thinking it was to much, as for the wallet holder i like the amount of contrast between black and white at the moment, and figure if i paint anything else im just gonna wind up going stupid, so i'll leave it how it is
however for the final part to the dash i was looking at one of these WHITE FACE DIALS Holden Commodore VT VX & VU UTE gauge (eBay item 120540579175 end time 02-May-11 22:53:49 AEST) : Cars, Bikes, Boats
that expensive sh1t that autobarn mixes up into aerosol tins, just make sure you get a decent clear and not the export quality tins from stupid cheap, it'll turn white creamy yellow in a heart beat, but all that said, it's an easy weekend job and one i'd recomend for simply changing the whole dynamic of your ride
