2001 vx wagon engine bay noises

hey guys ,
i have a vx wagon an i was hoping to get some rough ideas on what it actually is i can hear , whilst driving there is a whooshing noise coming from the passenger side of the engine bay (via the footwell) it only seems to make the sound under acceleration , im thinking a possible crack or leak , ive only had the car just under a month or so , so im unsure of service history to the full extent but since owning it i have changed the plugs and leads.

if anyone could help out that would be fantastic

Whooshing sound? Not entirely sure but, have you checked the air box to make sure it's clipped on properly? Might even be missing an air filter. It's the big black box on the LHS under the bonnet, there's a bunch of metal clips on it just slide em off to get to the air filter.
