Hi guys. A local is offering a 2002 VXII Calais, 3.8 Ecotec, 184,000k in what appears to be pretty good condition except for a small ding front left mudguard for $3500. Does that seem like a good deal or is it too much?

As long at is Roadworthy, and in good condition inside,
I would snap it up, get the ding in the guard fixed, or source a good second hand one from a wrecker if you can get the same colour, or just get the second hand one re-sprayed
For that price, I recon its worth it.
Because there is plenty of life in that model Commodore.

Side note:
I have a 2002 Calais Super6, and its done 186,000 k's and would not part with it,
great car to drive, as long its looked after and driven correctly,
it has plenty of motoring years left in it, and will last for years to come.

Thanks. The dent is quite a gentle curve and can probably be fixed with PDR. I have 2 VXII's both with over 360,000 on them so am aware how much life these old girls have in them. This one has basically only done 11,000k per year and is a country car. The inside is immaculate.

Sounds good to me ;)
If you retire one of your existing VX's, you will have spares that will last a while :)

Definitely a rare find being one owner and service history,
especially a 2002 model,
If it was me, I would be snapping it up.

You don't get much of any car for 3500 these days so with the RWC and history why not.
