So went to Powercruise on the 16th and 17th. Heaps of fun, drove the Ute hard as, spun out, went sideways, did burnouts all the good stuff and only problem I had was not getting it to sit on the brake whilst on the burnout pad due to caning my brakes around the track and sticky pad surface but did some Os And here's one during off street racing
Nice ride there man ! Just a quick question... What increase in noticeable performance did you get from the mafless set up ? Just curious to see whether or not its a good mod !
Go Mafless, can be tuned accurately using the MAP sensor as a form of air intake measuring, the MAF sensor itself is some kind of restriction and eliminating it means you can run a large sized intake pipe straight to your otr so its better. No need for it
New fastest time down the 1/4 mile, 13.45 Not bad I reckon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr7QYzVk9mI
Went to Dragwars the other weekend with some 15x8 cop steelies and ET Street tyres wrapped around them, rolled the rear guards before I put them on, looked so tuff running them, loved the fitment.. here are some pics: All the rubber up the inner guards lol Test fit Time to smoke them up
Cheers, I did not run any quicker. The fastest 1/4 mile time I have done is a 13.45 in street tyres and I ran a 13.63 in these ET streets. I believe the atmosphere was a cause of my slower times, this was the first time I ran the Ute down the 1/4 during the day in hot heat, the other times were at Night wars so in the late evening to night, cooler time. My top MPH was a bit lower in these wheels as they are slightly bigger in diameter compared to my street wheels. My 60ft and 1/8 mile times were pretty much the same. I didn't get wheel spin off the line in my street tyres so I don't reckon running these ET Streets made a huge difference, by 60ft times are **** though and I need to change my diff gears so im quicker off the line. Hey thanks. Rolling the guards was pretty straight forward, just slowly made adjustments to the tool to push in the lip until it was all the way tucked up into the guard but not going too far so I don't bring the guard out and change the shape of the guard. Few small paint cracks on the lip that I pushed in, but noting you can see until you get your head in the guard. It went better than I thought it would to be honest haha.
Put on some different styled wheels the other day, same size as the factory 17x8s just looks nicer IMO
they kinda remind me of oem vy s wheels, theyd look good painted dark charcoal (not black) Nice ute btw!
I like what you have done with the ute mate, good work. I personally prefer the standard wheels over the aftermarket ones. They look like vx clubby rims gone wrong. Look up vx clubsport wheels if you like these, they look similar yet better. And I think there 1" bigger.
Recently put a new tensioner and idler pulley on the main drive belt, as old ones were on its way out. New Endurant battery (doesn't look too good having an old battery in there, being an Auto Electrician) Hit the 270,000km mark! Time for another oil change and wanting to do my brakes. Thinking of going DBA slotted rotors all round and putting some really good pads up front. Also thinking of putting a TCI line lock in the Ute so I have no rear brakes when doing burnouts Also did a 750km day trip in the Ute, found that sitting on about 96km/h reduces some of the drone and having the windows down an inch.. haha not ideal but that's what I get for putting 3inch diff dumpers on my Ls1. Overtaking cars and trucks was a breeze on the upside, fuel consumption got down to 10.5L per 100km without resetting the trip computer. And them bugs: My OTR is getting dirty now
Looking good. I just did my brakes. Dba* t2s all round and really good pads (forgot the name it's like qfm* or something) Stops great! Painted the calipers while I was at it. Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
man i feel your pain with the bugs! i get the same problem on long trips, seems to only happen to commodores? wtf hey thinking i should do the same as you and replace the belt and idler pully, theyre getting a bit squeaky keep up the good stuff mate
