I would like an exhaust eventually but wondering if I just got the (lets say for arguments sake XFORCE) mufflers would that give me the same noise as it would if it was a cat back? More after sound for now.

Sorry for the dumb question but I new to all this.

    Thank you,

    Aaron.

You'd be better off finding a set of V8 factory mufflers. You can pick them up for next to nothing.

This sounds loud but also sounds like arse. Had a mate do it and the drone was shocking and the actual noise was what you expect from a 4 cylinder with a 3in exhaust.

Jeez, don't want to be sound like I drive an Excel with a cannon and ****, lol. SO better off going a cat back then by the sounds of it. Noise is made through the muffler though yeah? If so, that's why I thought it god just to get them for now.

The factory V8 mufflers aren't that loud on a V6. If it is worrying, find a set of AFM mufflers, these will have a single outlet from the muffler with twin tips. The standard V8 mufflers have twin outlets on each muffler.

OK, and what extractors would you recommend? I am hoping for a decent set that are just straight bolt up and I don't have to relocate sensors and stuff.

I am after gains in entire rev range. Would I have to worry about engine light coming on?

You will not get a bolt on set for a V6 unless you replace the cats as well. You have to move the factory cats back, this moves the sensors, and you may get the engine light. Being an 06 though, it's pretty rare for the light to come on, it only really happens on the 08 onwards V6's.

How did you go silver? Get it sorted? I'm interested myself as there some proflow branded headers on evil bay for pretty cheap, being proflow I assume there made by the same shop that did the first ve v6 turbo trials?

ProFlo are Chinese. They look like rebranded XForce.

200 cell Magna FLow cats are what I sell. The factory cats are 400 cell.

So I got quoted 550 inc gst for the pacemaker headers. Have not decided on a brand of cell yet (probably go magna flow though) or what system to use following the headers. I want to get the headers and go form there. Cats would be next then the mufflers. Not to sure if I want to do the pipes. They are apparently good enough with the exception of the bit that crimps in. so probably fix that and see what happen. Still a while off yet but its slowly in the works :)

Really? Thanks abba sounds like you saved me a headache and a lot of swearing! Haha is their a specific size that the sv6 needs for the cats? Eg, x amount long, x amount diameter, blah blah blah? Or does it depend on the headers you use?
