Hey, first time posting on a forums, decided to resort to this because we're low on cash and a mechanic isn't something we're interested in running to right now.

We've had this knocking car since purchase, turns out the kid who owned the car before us didn't know how to change the oil lol
The car was run dry on oil and there was a knocking sound, we filled it up, changed the fluids and gave it a service + some TLC.

The knocking sound from the engine lightened up a bit but was still there and quite noisy. We decided to change the coils and sparks (for the better), however that appears to have made the car sound nicer on the expense of the knock getting worse.

We've taken a video of the noise:

Sounds like a damaged big end bearing which is what you get when you run with no oil. If that's the correct diagnosis, there's no quick or cheap fix. It's engine out and probably better off replacing with a good used motor. Rebuilding your engine could be very expensive.

Thanks for the fast response, we'll likely weigh out our options after taking a deeper inspection over the week/next weekend.
