Hi guys,

Looking to see if anyone might know what the issue with my young blokes Astra is. It started to get that squeal as in a worn belt when the vehicle is at idle and low revs. Mechanic changed timing/drive belt - nil issue for a week then started again. Back to mechanic and idle pulley replaced. Same result so back and two engine mounts changed with same result.
Basically told the service centre I felt they were ripping us off, they stated that it was a process of eliminating what was causing the issue. They have provided good discounts for the follow up work however I told them they should be able to identify the exact cause surely?

Anyway I have since found that the noise only occurs when the AC is switched on, when it's off there is no such squeal at idle. So could be AC related or the AC putting extra load on somewhere? Thought the mechanic would have picked this up.

Cheers
