2008 statesman. We went on holiday, leaving car home, 5 weeks. Now radio doesn't work, display doesn't work ac stays on, can't adjust fan speed. Any.

2008 statesman, left home 5 weeks while on holidays. Now radio and display doesn't work. Ac on but not able to turn off or adjust the fan speed. Any ideas?

Battery almost flat?
Was the car locked while you were on holidays?
If that was my car I would disconnect the battery, charge it, reconnect and Start it up hoping everything works like it used to.

Car was locked. Maintenance battery charger attached. Tried disconnecting battery. No joy.

Yes disconnect battery, fully charge it, reconnect and see if the car works as it should.

While the battery is charging, ask your neighbours whether there was a mains power outage or some other electrical issue during those 5 weeks you were away. If there was a brown out or some surge, such can play havoc with electronics (the maintenance charger could be damaged and/or the cars systems could be damaged if the zap got through the charges). If there was some mains power issue, it’s lodge a claim time... If not and fully charging the battery and cold booting the car doesn’t help, no idea...

Had this the other week. Pull the fuse from above the battery in the back. There’s a radio or similar fuse in there. Eve it out over night. Put back in, in the morning.
Start car. Should be fine.

As an add on, the HVAC etc was functional, just that people couldn’t function it. Black screen, no input changes on the facia did anything.

Also the moment we found none of the fuse pullers were located conveniently or in a working order, so now have good fuse pullers in each car.

The issue will be low voltage.

Wonder what the problem was ? Was the car fixed or was it scrapped ?

Another blow in.....Came on for an issue, got some responses, made a reply and disappeared leaving everyone wondering whether there was a problem or not
