Hi guys, I’ve been a member for a little while and been wanting to put my ute up on here for quite a while, let me know what you think.

Name: Heath.

Model: 2008 VE SSV.

Colour: Herron White.

Bodykit: Factory.

Engine Type: 6L V8 L98 Gen IV.

Engine Mods: OTR, Performance Tune.

Power 255 RWKW.

Exhaust: 4 into 1 Pacemaker extractors, high flow cats & 2.5" pipe through to dual twin tip.

Gearbox: 6 Speed Manual.

Brakes: Standard.

Suspension: Pedders fully adjustable coilovers.

Wheels: Stock 19” VE SSV.

Factory Extra's: Sports pedals, Tow bar, Tinted windows.

Sound System: Stock.

Other Mods: Heavy duty clutch

Future Mods: Slimline (single hump) hard tonneau cover with LED lights in tray (Going on this weekend), 20” Supersports with Brigdestone Potenza’s RE050A’s (in the shed ready to go on once I sell my stockies).

Wish list: Brake upgrade, Stereo upgrade.

Ute is looking so good mate. Can't wait to see it with the hardlid on, it will make a huge difference. looking at getting mine by christmas. Where did you get yours?

Are you sure you've quoted the correct power figure? I doubt you'd get that power out of just an OTR, zorst and tune... if its been cammed then yes....

FYI - it doesnt have a performance chip, the factory computer has been tuned

Looks nice and clean. Ride height is perfect!

Power figure is rubbish thought unless it's cammed.

Whet sort of brakes are you thinking for it?

Tune I meant, not chip...Not up with all the lingo.

Don't have a lot of experience with what mods increase power to a certain amount of rwkw, the dyno completed by a friend said 303... Perhaps the car was built on a Wednesday..? haha

As for brakes, im not too sure. There are a few options out there, all seem rather expensive though. around the 3-5 k mark. Any suggestions..?

Yeah, not sure where that 303 comes from.

It's definately not at the wheels unless there is a cam in there. So for a moment I thought it might be 303rwhp but that works out to be 226rwkw which is too low for the mods you listed.

You would expect 250-270rwkw with your mods on that engine.

Re brakes, you can get the brembo fronts for like 1500 but they are not that impressive.

For 2K: VE big brake upgrade 405mm 8 pot | eBay

And then you have 1K sorting out something for the rear.

Or, you can try and hunt down a PDB M Series kit 2nd hand:

Dyno results

Thanks Jesterarts,

Will def have a look around for some brakes...Not as expensive as I thought it would be.

Also thought i'd post my dyno results that were done mid last year.

Will get some pics up of the hard lid once on this weekend.

so you gained roughly 80-100rwkw off an exhaust otr and tune?

i want what your smoking!!!!

a bloke i know with a ve ss got around 300rwkw with exhaust cam otr and tune.. and he spent big bucks on the good stuff.
